I think most companies are approaching selling AI into legacy industries the wrong way. Over the past few months, we’ve sold to large enterprises and mid-market firms. Here are a few thoughts on what’s worked for us since moving into insurance.

things are moving quickly at @generalmagic_ai right now. we're moving into a new toronto office soon, and we're working with some of the best brokerages in the country. most people misunderstand insurance. we think of it as the infrastructure of ambition. nothing gets built without it. no one opens a restaurant, buys a first home, or puts a truck on the road until someone underwrites the risk. insurance is a fragmented market, still running on text and email, with the same work repeating across intake, underwriting, and servicing. most of it is admin that takes hours and shouldn't. that's what we're taking off the table. when that work costs a fraction of what it does today, the accounts that were never worth the labour become worth serving. we want people with high agency. people who want to build here and support what's happening in canada, with the option to work in the us or grow into it over time. people who want hard problems and aren't afraid to prove themselves. $10k for every referral we hire. if you know someone, send them over. come build with us.

come be our chief co op officer
We're hiring co-op students at @generalmagic_ai. End of 2026 and into 2027. Term length doesn't matter to us. Four months, eight months, a full year, we'll make it work for the right person. We're specifically looking for backend engineers and AI engineers. You'd join as a Member of Technical Staff, which means you sit with the entire engineering team and work with our brokerage customers. If you want proof that's real, ask @_smitsp11. Smit joined us early as a co-op from UofT and is currently spending the term shipping our product to brokerages across Canada. We're trying to build a co-op program that's actually worth your term. One that accelerates your learning, gives you real experience, and shows you the fundamentals of building a great company. If this sounds like you, reach out to @ParsaYP9 or me to chat.

Our team is growing. We're hiring across a bunch of engineering roles, and yes, refer someone we hire and you'll earn $10k Come build the future of insurance with us: generalmagic.inc/careers
We're hiring for a lot of engineering roles at @generalmagic_ai, and if you refer someone we hire, that's $10k in your pocket. A new one we just posted, is for a forward deployed engineer. Every brokerage works a little differently. The gap between a great product and a great deployment is someone who sits with the customer, understands how their work really happens, and shapes the workflow around it. That's this role. You'll work directly with some of the largest brokerages in the country, turn how they actually operate into software our agents can run, and stay close enough to see it land in production. We set a high bar. If you hold yourself to an even higher one, we should talk. link to apply for roles below:
