📢 I'm really excited to share that I'm back to working on Open Source, an SDK no less! And not any SDK, but @aiSDK! Thank you @vercel for letting me 🖤 I'll be using Twitter exclusively for work.

Use Jev to ask questions about images in AI SDK. Pass an image, define a boolean question, and get back the probability that it's true.
Replying to @typesafeai
composable images: Jev got eyes!!! eyes eyes baby. not only are we enabling multimodality for future Jev models, we’re enabling it for the current Jev that you all know and love. and images can go anywhere text could go before, in whatever combination you can think of. go wild. deets in the docs: docs.typesafe.ai/go/images

AI SDK just hit 30 million weekly downloads 🤯 Absurd how quickly it has grown over the last year: • December: 5 million • March: 10 million • August: 20 million • September: 30 million And despite that rapid growth, our open issue count has been dropping, thanks in large part to the factory that @lgrammel built! It's really fun to be building a project like this with a great team (shoutout to the 🐐s: @gr2m @felixarntz @aayushkapoor_ @nishimiya), and I'm excited about what's next for AI SDK.

Use GPT-6 Sol and Luna with AI SDK
Please welcome GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the GPT-6 universe. GPT-6 Sol and Luna build on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, bringing much of its strengths into faster and more affordable models to support work at scale. We’ve also made caching and inference more efficient, and we’re passing the savings directly to you: 50% lower API prices for Sol and Luna compared with GPT‑5.6 promotional pricing.

I do miss the old way we collaborated on open source, before close to 100% of pull requests were generated by AI. There is no way back to the old days, but there is an opportunity to find new ways of collaboration. We all want to retain the human touch of collaboration.
We’re changing how we maintain AI SDK on GitHub.

I think our software factory will allow us to sustain a bug-free project with long terms support for maintenance versions. But when it comes to exploring new features, I'm eager to find interesting ways to collaborate more with our community.

Bring your own gateway
The @aisdk never calls an OpenAI-compatible endpoint — model strings resolve through its own gateway protocol. It's why leaving the Vercel AI Gateway meant a rewrite. @llmgateway now speaks that protocol. Swap one line; web search citations and the model picker keep working.
