My late father tutored my son 2x per week in math all the way from California—and always had on a Tuskegee shirt when he did.
Ha.
His grandson is now a freshman at TU—and is strong in math to this day. NEVER underestimate the power of your influence—or intention.

Lukewarm take:
Because I use Zoom for like 99.9% of virtual things at work, my brain rebels against any meeting or conference set up on Teams and wants whoever planned it to stop trying to make “fetch” happen.
Okay. Carry on. 😂🙃🙄
After a beautiful, peaceful weekend at our centennial homecoming celebration, our @TuskegeeUniv family was impacted by the epidemic of gun violence.
We are fortunate that our TU scholar and family are safe. I appreciate the love and concern.
🥺❤️💛🙏🏽
Something about giving an @AAMCtoday lecture named for one of your academic heroes while he watches on the front row hits kind of different than other lectures.
I’m just saying.
Thank you for your example and mentoring, Dr. Jordan J. Cohen!🥹🙏🏽

Congratulations to my friend Wendy Armstrong on this new role at @CUDeptMedicine! We will miss her at @EmoryMedicine but as my son once said when he was little: “Yay you does not mean boo me.” Or in this instance, us. Excited for you, Wendy!👊🏽💛
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Wendy Armstrong as the new Head of @CUDivofID starting April 2025! A leader in HIV care & infectious diseases, Dr. Armstrong brings invaluable experience from @EmoryMedicine. We look forward to her leadership in advancing our field! 🎉🤗
Congratulations to Lauren Gensler who received the Roger Kathol Pioneering Spirit award at the Association of Medicine & Psychiatry @assocmedpsych Meeting for her outstanding service to the organization. #MedPsych#GIMProud
‘Cause a lot of leaders are birthing parents and some of them need to pump.
Whoa. Wait. Not me right now.✋🏾
But let’s just say back in the day when I DID need to pump this wasn’t a thing. Good stuff @SocietyHospMed.🤰🏽🥰🍼👶🏽
I didn't think I was doing anything special w/ my CCU team: mini 🫀 lectures qAM; role modeling how to approach pts; pointing out JVD, S3s, & teaching EKGs. Imagine my surprise to find a "trophy" for "dedication to teaching" in my office after the last day. 🙏🏾

Ran across this old picture of my now 18 yo son and showed it to him as he walked out the door.
Him: *laughs* “See? Proof that you’re a W mom.”
Which is apparently short for “winning.”
To my fellow imperfect parents out there? Know that sometimes we get it right.💛

Loved meeting you @E_King_MD. Your words were so special!
So incredibly grateful to @FOCUS_UPenn for having me as a keynote speaker for the 27th annual Fall Conference. Beautiful energy, invigorating presentations, and awesome connecting—not to mention it being in one of my favorite cities in the world.
Until next time, Philly! ✌🏽🦅
