Greptile has raised a $50M Series B led by Menlo Ventures. The round values the company at $750M. Greptile reviews and tests more than 1% of all PRs opened on GitHub every day. Thousands of engineering teams including Nvidia, Coinbase, Decagon, and Vanta use Greptile as their independent and central validation layer. Fewer than 50 people, we are a small, talent-dense team of engineers and researchers in a quiet corner of San Francisco. If you’re interested in joining us, we’d love to hear from you.

The SF homelessness trap, simply: Advocates convince liberals they're helping locals priced out of housing. The city spends billions on housing and services. But many recipients are drug users from outside SF. Users attract dealers. Drugs stay cheap, services stay generous, and more people come. Cartels see this and bring in cheap fentanyl. Problem explodes. Advocates mean well, but the unintended consequences are too great. The money we spend on housing, treatment, and healthcare for out-of-town drug users could go to San Francisco Kids & Schools.

I think the driver for the US to have a chance to catch-up here is with autonomous electric cars
Electric vehicle adoption is accelerating worldwide – but not in the United States:

Electrification is energy security, national security, improved public health, better products and healing our climate. This should not be partisan issue
The whole world is going electric and we are way behind.

Some news I’ve been excited to share: @gonzalosm7 is officially a co-founder of @gumloop Gonzalo joined us two years ago as employee #5, back when Gumloop was a simple workflow platform. He was a key part of re-founding the company as the agent-building platform our customers know and love today. Since then, we’ve 9x’d headcount and built a product that has automated over 1.3 billion tasks with Gonzalo leading our product and design teams the entire way. More than that, he’s become the third voice in the room when the hard decisions get made. The title is just catching up to the role he’s been playing. @rbehal1729 and I couldn’t be more excited to make it official. Congrats, Gonzalo!

The mood in Ukraine is grim today. There's frustration and outrage here in Kyiv towards the Trump administration over what Ukraine's government, the troops and society believe is a deliberate attempt on the part of Washington to force Ukraine to capitulate to Russia – by withholding intelligence that allows early warning when Russian missiles are incoming, and cutting off Starlink to the military which needs it to strike and for defence against jet drones. These decisions cut intel sharing and restrict Starlink cost lives; at least 5 people killed in Kyiv, 6 more in Lutsk, dozens others badly injured.
NEW: Ukrainian troops have been caught off guard by restrictions on Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet systems that disrupted frontline operations, as Kyiv received no advance warning from its partners of a Russian missile attack on its energy facilities for the second day running, Ukrainian officials and troops tell @FT. ft.com/content/37085602-726a…

Allowing Russian diesel fuel to be sold freely in global markets, including in the United States, weakens American security interests and helps fund Putin’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.   Today, I joined 11 of my Senate colleagues in a bipartisan letter to @POTUS urging him to rescind this deal with Putin. We must maintain economic pressure to keep our negotiating position strong and protect vital U.S. national security interests.

Exa just passed $100m in annualized revenue. We've grown almost exactly 10x per year for 3 years. We now handle 2 billion requests a month from 200k+ teams. And it’s still so early: We predict agents will search 1000x more than humans by 2030. Agents don't search like humans. They write long, complex queries and want all the world's data, not just the web. We've spent 5 years building a search engine designed for them. We now serve personal agents, AI labs, coding agents, GTM agents, really any agent. Exa gives these agents access to 100s of billions of web documents and tons of proprietary data. Our customers are increasingly noticing that information is the bottleneck to agent performance. While the world seems close to perfect intelligence with models like Fable and Astra, we are very far from perfect information. To our small but legendary team, thank you for getting us here, from engineering to research to GTM to ops. To our customers, it is an honor to serve you. We have some exciting releases coming soon and can't wait to share them 🫡

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Sweden's position is the same as it has been since February 24 2022: we will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. Now more pressure needs to be put on Russia and more support needs to be provided for Ukraine. We regret the US agreement with Russia to supply diesel, as energy revenues are a vital source of funding Russia’s war of aggression. On Monday, the EU will adopt the largest sanctions package to date, listing 1,600 entities in the Russian military industrial complex. This is - in contrast - a welcome step. More countries also need to do more against the shadow fleet and eventually make use of the frozen Russian assets to the benefit of Ukraine. In all of this, we need to stay closely coordinated in the EU and with the US, UK and other international partners. The broad political and popular support in Sweden for Ukraine is a strength and an asset in these turbulent times. Sweden stands with Ukraine, and Ukraine’s freedom and sovereignty remains our foremost foreign policy priority.

Robotics has a distribution problem. Today, Ultra is announcing $62M in funding to solve it, including a $50M Series A led by @hiFramework. We believe that deployment is the bottleneck in robotics. It’s relatively easy to make a robot look impressive in a controlled environment. It’s much harder to put a robot into the open world, make it useful, keep it running, earn the trust of the people working alongside it, and do that over and over and over again. So that’s what we’re focusing on.

Not all coding data is created equal. Using only 500 tasks from @AfterQuery's SWE agent dataset, our internal post-training team was able to improve Qwen3.8-27B-Medium by 11.3 points in only 15 steps of GRPO. Read more about our training experiment in the blog post linked in the comments.

One of the best decisions we’ve made early at @AfterQuery was building an in-house research team. Knowing what great data looks like is table stakes. Raising the bar means showing labs their model’s losses, then providing data to close those gaps.

This is one of the best things I’ve posted in terms of being able to get talented people in tech connected to potential roles in the public sector. We need a lot more talent working with people like @jgebbia @USWREMichael @SamCorcos @skupor and many others.
One common theme of conversation over the last month has been: how do we get more technical people to work in DC or do a tour of duty. There are many many parts of USG where there’s technical expertise needed, especially with anything involving the AI stack. If you are an engineer or researcher, consider a stint working in any part of the USG or DoW or anywhere where the public sector of the country needs more technical help. Also if you are reading this and interested, DM me and I am happy to make some connections.

How do we shut down SF's drug market? Start with the data. Five years ago, drug-dealing arrests hit a low: 1,780 a year. Three years ago, the city launched the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center, uniting public health and public safety for the first time. Arrests spiked to 3,223 under then-Commander, now Chief, Lew. Convictions tripled from 16% to 46% under DA Jenkins. It worked. The market shrank. Daytime dealing is gone. So what's stopping us from finishing the job? Adaptation. First, fewer dealers are left (good news!), with 1,948 arrested last year. But the ones who remain are harder to catch. They've switched from open dealing to drops and moved to nighttime, when police are stretched thin. Second, judges keep letting them go. Of 1,172 pending dealing cases last year, only 10% were held pre-trial. Over 1,000 dealers went right back to the street. To shut it down for good, we need to: 1. Put more police on the street at night 2. Launch a drug market intervention strategy that pairs prevention with enforcement 3. Hold judges accountable for releasing fentanyl dealers pre-trial 4. Change state law to treat fentanyl dealing as the deadly crime it is

Gumloop (YC W24) is building a platform that lets employees across a company build and share AI agents, while giving IT control over the data, permissions, and infrastructure behind them. Today it’s used by companies including Shopify, Gusto, and Instacart to automate work across sales, customer success, operations, and more. In this fireside, @gumloop co-founders @MaxBrodeurUrbas and @rbehal1729 joined @gustaf to share how they built Gumloop before models were ready for agents, then found product-market fit as the technology caught up. They talk about landing early enterprise customers, making companies AI-native, and why the people closest to the work should be the ones automating it. 00:00 — The AI Agent Builder for Every Team 03:38 — From Workflow Automation to Enterprise AI 07:20 — What It Takes to Win Enterprise Customers 11:02 — How the Founders Met and Got Into YC 15:00 — How Gumloop Uses Its Own Agents 18:02 — Landing Shopify and Rethinking Pricing 21:23 — Fundraising and the Limits of Staying Lean 24:35 — Letting Employees Automate Their Own Work 27:43 — Building Agents Companies Can Control 31:23 — Getting IT to Say Yes
