robotics is entering its Linux moment. @NVIDIAAI GTC Berlin announcements bring open tools for training and running robots closer together with Isaac Lab 3.0 and Cosmos Competing robot makers could end up building on the same software foundations

a car just literally flew thanks to @SpaceX between AI, robots, rockets, and now flying cars, science fiction is slowly becoming our everyday reality. what a time to be alive.

France, Germany and the UK are betting on LLMs and world models. The Dutch ?@ASMLcompany sells the machines. @nebiusai sells the compute. In the 17th century, Amsterdam mastered the markets that financed global trade. 400 years later, the Dutch are still providing the machinery while others build the brains. Different gold rush. Same instinct.

after 18 months in Amsterdam at the @nebiusai headquarters, working on one of our first gtm efforts in Europe, I’m very happy to share that I've moved to Paris this week i’ll now be focusing on France and Southern Europe, where we are growing quickly and already working with great companies including @amilabs, @Photoroom @SwordHQ and many others. If you’re a founder, researcher or engineer building in AI, I’d love to meet you. Whether you want to talk about GPUs, inference, training or a new startup idea, feel free to send me a message. And if you’re in Paris, let’s grab a coffee or lunch :)

Would love to understand the German perspective here. As a Frenchman, I genuinely struggle to understand Ecosia’s environmental argument for leaving Mistral. What am I missing?
We serve those as well! Sorry if using nuclear energy is a real blocker

Interesting takes! French Twitter seems to have a cognitive bias toward the environmental explanation, which is why I asked

Ben AI-ffleck
Ben Affleck reveals he writes Python, understands convolutional neural networks, worked extensively with GPUs, and used his celebrity status to get private looks at Google and OpenAI’s video models “I’ve always been kind of into computers since I was young. Then, when film started to move from analog film to digital, I became more interested in that aspect of it. The visual-effects workflow for many years has included machine learning, so I can write pretty shitty Python scripts and stuff like that. “With convolutional neural networks, which were the precursors to what the transformer can do, which is much more computation simultaneously, you would do things like look at what’s called a tensor. That’s the numerical translation of a visual image in numbers, like the batch number, the frame number and the red, green and blue values of each pixel in each frame. It’s just that simple. That numeric is called a tensor. “You’d use a convolutional neural network to identify patterns that reveal what’s called edge detection or feature extraction, which is identifying patterns well enough to know, this is where the window ledge is, so we can more easily take the green-screen image out and replace it with something. “That was familiar to me early on because, prior to Artists Equity, I had a small visual-effects company. I’ve worked with GPUs a lot too. The visual-effects guys said, ‘Hey, you should see. There are a couple: Google and this other company, OpenAI, are doing really interesting stuff with transformers in video.’ “I’ve learned that I can actually just call up and go, ‘Hey, it’s Ben Affleck. Can I come see what you’re doing?’ Sometimes people say yes, to my astonishment.”

Why don’t we throw all the world’s compute at the one problem we all agree needs solving? Because compute can’t optimise what we haven’t learned to measure. What can be measured can scale, what scales begins to shape the world.

You can't point a GPU at Cancer

aka "a wish with no loss function" few days ago, I asked where the world should send all its compute. Almost every answer named something we want, but Compute only understands what we can measure.

What a journey : newsletter.semianalysis.com/… from @SemiAnalysis_ I joined @nebiusai in 2025, when it was still an emerging AI cloud challenger. Today, it stands alongside the industry leader at the top of ClusterMAX from @SemiAnalysis_ Its execution speed is incredible. Exceptional engineers from many cultures prove what a global team can achieve. Proud to be part of it

Intelligence is often discussed as if it were immaterial. AI makes the opposite visible: reasoning requires chips, memory, energy and cooling. Compute does not diminish human thought. It gives more people the ability to test, build and discover at a scale once reserved for a few

World models have a hidden infrastructure cost : retaining enormous video datasets. The answer may look surprisingly old school : NVMe for active data. Object storage for warm datasets. Tape for rarely accessed footage 💾 Could a 75-year old technology become core AI infrastructure ?
