It is challenging to identify people experiencing homelessness, and common ways have notable flaws. Surgeons must seize emerging opportunities to standardize documentation of housing status to 1) facilitate better rsch & 2) move from describing problems to testing solutions.

I’m excited to announce Kunal Modi as the City’s first Chief of Health, Homelessness, and Family Services. Kunal's leadership will be vital as we tackle homelessness, strengthen behavioral health systems, and ensure all San Franciscans have access to the support they need.
Daniel Lurie named Kunal Modi, a partner at McKinsey, to be his chief of health, homelessness, & family services. Modi will focus on behavioral health, unsheltered homelessness, and the city’s support and services provided to residents. via @xueer_lu missionlocal.org/2025/01/dan…

An example of the problem inherent to binning continuous measures. Cutoffs can have value if your goal is to make discrete choices based on a number. If, however, your goal is to accurately quantify a risk profile, binning continuous data is antithetical to that goal.
Standard BMI thresholds may misclassify metabolic disease risk in some individuals at risk for obesity-related metabolic disease over time despite a normal BMI. ja.ma/4g0V9c9
