Once again, nothing is a real problem until a conservative personally experiences it. Then it’s the greatest injustice to ever occur, how could this happen, why would anyone let this happen.

My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long.
Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys

You can’t seriously place blame on the airline for not getting there 50 minutes early for a checked bag. They’re pre boarding at that point!
Got to @AlaskaAir 48 minutes before our flight. 50 minutes is what’s needed to check a bag and apparently that’s a HARD cutoff.
They stayed firm. No human moment of course. Wouldn’t help with the existing flight. So now my wife, my 1 year old and I are changed from a direct flight. To a connecting flight, that due to maintenance is delayed and we will miss our connection… so now a non stop flight that would have got in at 3:30pm is a connecting flight, delay, missed connection, and an arrival at 11pm.
All because of 2 minutes :(
Traveling with a baby is hard. Lesson learned
