Gina Hinojosa met with Beto O’Rourke before running. "Not one person can win Texas," he told her. "It has to be two." She and Talarico ran as a ticket, each appealing to different areas and demographics. Together, they changed what’s possible in Texas. theatlantic.com/politics/202…

Semafor: Annie Andrews knew she was winning in October — but kept the poll secret On Oct. 5, the Andrews campaign received a poll showing her with a 3-point lead over Graham. But the Democrat’s campaign decided against publicly releasing the poll — or any subsequent internal poll — showing Andrews with a lead over Graham, wary of drawing too much attention from national Republicans and jeopardizing a peak at the right time, according to Chas Goldman, a strategist for Andrews. semafor.com/article/11/04/20…

Gina Hinojosa had many golden soundbites in her victory speech — but what she said about immediately firing Mike Morath and shutting vouchers down might be top. Texas rejected the entire R statewide slate — despite no Dems elected since 1994 — after vouchers went into effect.
Gina Hinojosa delivers the agenda for Public Education Texas: ā€œOn Day One, I will fire Mike Morath and we will work tirelessly to repair the damage of the Texas voucher scam - And end an era in which our schools are sold for parts:ā€

Governor Abbott had $105.7 MILLION when he ran for his FOURTH term 😬 And he was the first to do mid-decade redistricting. He and every single statewide Republican candidate just lost Texas. Democrats hadn’t won Texas since 1994, y’all!

Tick Tock --> How Trump put the Senate in play - Picked JD Vance as his running mate, opening up tough expensive special election that GOP could lose. DeWine appointed Husted, who originally wanted to run for governor. Close race that wouldn't have been up til '28 otherwise - Tangled with Tillis over healthcare cuts in 2025, prompting his retirement. Thune said then Tillis "knew how to run and win in North Carolina." Trump cleared field for Whatley, who is down by large margin. - Cold-shouldered Cornyn then backed Paxton. Cornyn: ā€œTexas was an unforced error, I think, on the part of the president... if I won the nomination, then that would be a layup in November. That’s all off the table.ā€ - Backed Sen. Darline Graham in crowded SC race, most senators thought she'd be an interim senator. Now in toss-up race against Annie Andrews with state GOP divided. Andrews: "Darline was going to be easier for me.ā€ - Tried to oust Kemp in '22; when Georgia race came up this cycle, Kemp passed on the race. Trump backed Rep. Mike Collins over Kemp's pick Dooley, now huge underdog to Sen. Ossoff - Tariffs, filibuster pressure and of course, the Iran War: ā€œEvery negative for the GOP this cycle is a downstream effect of Iran" w/ @ShelbyTalcott semafor.com/article/11/02/20…

Not sure how Moreno can square this with endorsing Ramaswamy to be the governor of his state.
Moreno says El-Sayed can’t be a senator because he doesn’t understand that Jesus came here for our salvation.

Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing. She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.
NEW: I obtained the full Trumbull County file for Amy Acton's stepfather's 1974 charge which shows that he was indicted for incest involving his 16-year-old biological daughter in 1973. The sheriff was then unable to locate him to serve him a summons in the county and nothing further happened in the case. Donna Arthur, featured in Vivek Ramaswamy's still-running campaign ad, married Cledith the next year in a neighboring county.

This Forbes investigation is a must-read. Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million. He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort. A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways. This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill. forbes.com/sites/danalexande…
