● Apology and Website Service Resumption ● Unauthorized access to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) website resulted in the leakage of personal information. To prevent further damage and ensure security, the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO) temporarily took its website offline as well. Following an investigation into the cause and a security assessment of the website, a temporary version of the IDE website resumed operation on October 23, with certain functions restricted. We sincerely apologize for the concern, inconvenience, and disruption this incident may have caused.

【📢New Discussion Paper!】 "Crisis-Specific Gulfization of Stock Markets: Multipolar Shock Sources in GCC Spillovers" by Jun Saito. Using a VARX-FEVD framework, the paper compares GCC-related spillovers during the Global Financial Crisis, the oil price bust, and the COVID-19 crisis. The analysis finds that crisis-period Gulfization is highly context-dependent and multipolar: Saudi Arabia does not consistently dominate, while Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Oman, and Kuwait emerge as important sources of spillovers depending on the crisis and recipient market. 📄 ide.go.jp/English/Publish/Re… #GCC #MENA #FinancialSpillovers #FinancialConnectedness #InternationalFinance
