Under PM @narendramodi ji, telecom security is a key national agenda, and one I am personally giving high priority. At the @ITU Roundtable at IMC2026, I shared how India is stopping fraud inside the network. Spoofed international calls are blocked in real time, over 82 lakh fraudulent connections have been cut, and suspected losses of over ₹5,000 crore have been prevented. But fraud crosses borders. ITU has already developed standards to verify the identity behind every call. The next step is to implement them across networks carrying international traffic, and India stands ready to contribute.

Chaired a meeting with our Licensed Service Areas (LSAs), the field units of @DoT_India that safeguard telecom security, ensure quality of service and coordinate with States. Guided by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji's vision of moving from adopting technology to advancing it, I urged them to keep the common citizen at the centre: protect every Indian from telecom fraud, work hand in hand with local police, and make public trust our guiding principle. Appreciated the best-performing LSAs, whose good practices were shared so that what works in one State becomes the standard everywhere. టెలికాం భద్రత, సేవల నాణ్యత, రాష్ట్రాలతో సమన్వయం వంటి కీలక అంశాలపై పనిచేస్తున్న DoT లైసెన్స్‌డ్ సర్వీస్ ఏరియాస్ (LSAs)తో సమీక్షా సమావేశానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించాను. ప్రధానమంత్రి శ్రీ నరేంద్ర మోదీ గారి దార్శనికతతో సాంకేతికతను కేవలం స్వీకరించడం కాకుండా, దాన్ని మరింత ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లే దిశగా పనిచేస్తున్నాం. ఈ క్రమంలో సామాన్య పౌరుడినే కేంద్రంగా ఉంచుకుని పనిచేయాలని LSAsకు స్పష్టం చేశాను. ప్రతి భారతీయుడిని టెలికాం మోసాల నుంచి రక్షించడం, స్థానిక పోలీసు శాఖలతో సమన్వయంతో పనిచేయడం, ప్రజల నమ్మకాన్ని అత్యంత ప్రాధాన్యంగా తీసుకోవడం మన బాధ్యత. అత్యుత్తమ పనితీరు కనబరిచిన LSAsను అభినందించడంతో పాటు, వారు అమలు చేస్తున్న మంచి విధానాలను ఇతర ప్రాంతాలతో పంచుకున్నాం. ఒక రాష్ట్రంలో విజయవంతంగా అమలవుతున్న మంచి విధానం... దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఆదర్శంగా మారేలా ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లడమే లక్ష్యం.

Two days in Limassol, Cyprus 🇨🇾 discussing how AI, early warning systems and international standards can strengthen resilience to natural hazards. Pleased to contribute to the EU-funded #MedEWSa and ARTEMis discussions as a member of the External Advisory Board and panellist on interoperability for multi-hazard early warning systems. A timely opportunity to highlight ITU-T's work on AI for disaster management and the Global Initiative on Resilience to Natural Hazards through AI Solutions. One clear takeaway: resilience requires solutions that are connected, trusted, scalable, and sustainable. International standards help turn innovation into operational impact. In Warsaw 🇵🇱, policymakers, regulators and healthcare leaders came together to explore how AI can improve lives while remaining trusted, inclusive and beneficial for all. At the High-Level Conference Beyond Digitalization, discussions highlighted that trusted AI in healthcare depends on trusted data, robust cybersecurity, skilled workforces, international cooperation and international standards. @ITUStandards #Standards provide the foundation for interoperable, reliable and trustworthy AI. Through the Global Initiative on AI for Health (#GIAI4H), @ITU, @WHO and @WIPO are advancing evaluation methodologies and benchmarks to support safe and effective AI in healthcare.
