one thing that made this click for me — with decision models, you have to define categories and it returns probabilities that the input matches those categories. but so much of the data we interact with is completely new to us. how can you define categories for something you've never read? with clairic, you can extract values directly from the inputs, without any premeditated categories. the pipeline becomes clairic to extract values → clef to make decisions with those values → LLMs to take actions on those decisions. all of these models run on Workers AI.

One thing that didn't change post-AI is web devs. If you want to summon the most insufferable excuse parade just say that it would be cool to see a few kilobytes of text in, I don't know, under a second. Also add a couple pictures if you want it extra spicy.

This.
Skeletons are the worst cancer in the history of user interfaces. Just make loads fast. Ping across the ocean is never more than 200ms, maybe 300ms if you're Australian, just return the damn data at that speed and you never need to even think about this crap.

It's been a long road, but I think the WordPress core patch to eliminate script/style concatenation is ready to ship in 7.2! Goodbye load-scripts.php & load-styles.php (and all the headaches they have caused). This one PR will close 10+ Trac tickets: github.com/WordPress/wordpre…

1️⃣ Have really bad internal search 2️⃣ Have more branded searches 3️⃣ Enjoy increased higher SERP CTR 4️⃣ Whole domain gets boosted by NavBoost Can anyone explain to me why this would not work?
What if your SEO growth just measures how badly you treat customers? Confusing pricing, hidden support, painful cancellations... All generate search traffic. Your best-performing keywords might actually be bug reports. jonoalderson.com/conjecture/…

If your marketing only cares about potential buyers, it’s broken. Some of the people creating the most valuable evidence around your brand will never become customers. I wrote about audience-centricity, and why “out of market” still isn’t far enough: jonoalderson.com/conjecture/…

I think 'explain why this is terrible and no one will ever use it' would be a good question for UI/UX interviews
i HATE how an engineer invented the correct way to write recipes like 20 years ago and nobody else ever used it

WordPress often gets treated as a legacy platform, and is seen as the "old thing" people should be moving away from. However it turns out that for AI agents it's one of the best-prepared platforms on the web. In my new post on the Elementor blog, I wrote about how WordPress has offered content in a number of machine-readable ways almost since day one, which is before most of the people building agents had a website. Or had graduated high school. Or were born... elementor.com/blog/wordpress…

Every agency these days is like " we solve business problems with creativity, data and tech" And their website is entirely social media campaigns or tv ads. Is it not possible to solve them with training, apis, reorgs, NPD, culture change, code, or ANYTHING other than ads

personal agent demos should be focused on getting rid of activities that people dread and put off or that require a lot of cognitive effort, not pizza and flights. they should one shot license renewals, DMV requests, insurance policy shopping, car trade ins, etc

In July we open-sourced a dynamic graph of everything a child learns in primary school. 1,590 concepts, 3,221 dependencies. Now we’re turning every concept into interactive experiments kids can play and learn from. First one, age 7: heat and water. Everything that used to be a boring textbook can now be an engaging experience, potentially tailored to every child. Kids education just got a massive upgrade.

Many don't realize the amount of work/effort that goes into preparing a deck for a conference (besides the speaking part itself)! That's why I truly appreciate when someone takes the time to share positive feedback like this. I don't usually share this type of feedback that I'm lucky to receive, but thought it would be actually useful to incentivize others to also give positive feedback to any of the speakers and anybody who shares anything useful in any format, whether a guide or a tool or resource that makes your day to day easier... this is what makes the effort worthy, and your little comment can make someone's day 😉💪 A little challenge to finish the week: Go and give a positive feedback to that search / digital practitioner who has helped you lately with what they've published/shared/spoken.

Amused that AWS just unilaterally cancelled Cloudflare's Reinvent booth. There are always signs when someone finally realizes they're losing. Guess we'll just attend and throw the most fun side events without paying Amazon! Reply if you want an invite.

We keep improving performance across Claude, and you may have noticed it starts responding sooner! Claude Code now gzips the conversation it sends on every turn, so it reaches the model faster. Cloud sessions also start up as soon as you start typing.
