Ode to the Man Dressed in White
To the man dressed in white,
Who once stood tall, with a smile so bright.
A wizard of math, with a mind razor-sharp,
Years spent teaching logic, theorem, and arc.
You raised your own—three, and theirs too,
Walked life’s long road to eighty-two.
Outlasting even one you held tight,
Through tears and laughter, day and night.
Your children and theirs grew steady and strong,
While you slipped gently into the dusk of long.
Blessed with a wife who stayed by your side,
Though your burden grew heavy with each tide.
Your sharp mind dimmed, your strong body slowed,
As the weight of the years quietly bestowed.
You lay in stillness to take your last breath—
And I bid adieu, in the hush of your death.
