Brody Simpkins
@brodysimpkins1 has been a force for Ashland through eight games, piling up 90 total tackles before the bye week. That includes 57 solo stops and 33 assists, showing just how often he’s getting to the football and finishing plays. Whether the ball is coming his way or he has to chase it down, Brody keeps putting himself in the middle of the action for the Tomcats.
His impact goes beyond the tackle total. Brody has 10 tackles for loss, getting into the backfield and stopping plays before they have a chance to build. He’s added a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered two more. Those are the plays that can change a drive in a hurry, and he’s given Ashland that kind of defensive spark throughout the season.
The statewide rankings show how strong his run has been. Among KHSAA players in all divisions, Class 1A through 6A, Brody is tied for fifth in solo tackles and sits 12th in total tackles. That’s a big achievement, and there’s still more football in front of him. Brody has been flying to the ball, making his stops count, and giving his team a defender who can make his presence felt on any snap.
