The orientation continued this week with a helpful conversation with my MP, @PatrickBWeiler. Appreciative as always of his insights. Thanks!

A nice way to start the day is by reading about how a community cares and gives: nsnews.com/in-the-community/…

My take on the B.C. election result for @TheHubCanada: thehub.ca/2026/10/25/why-dav…

You will want to see the @VancouverOpera production of Tosca. One of the finest in memory. Congratulations!

Has a nice, long latte today with fellow political newbie @braedencaley, MP for North Vancouver-Capilano. Confident we will work together on issues for @WestVanDistrict, the North Shore and beyond. Thanks for the time!

Had a great meeting today with @LindaCBuchanan of @CityOfNorthVan to learn about our mutual interests. Appreciative of the insights.

Gracious and helpful of #MarkSager to bring me to @MetroVancouver today to meet officials and take in a board meeting as I assume the mayoralty of @WestVanDistrict Nov. 2. Many thanks.

Spent time with @ayla_dumais, @Conservative_BC candidate in WestVan-Sea-to-Sky. Informed, Ottawa experience, articulate on the issues. Like me, a rookie (albeit 4+ decades younger). I value my MLA, @JValeriote74, but this riding has too many needs to not be at the table now.

A thank you and some thoughts as the mayor-elect of @WestVanDistrict: kirklapointe.ca/uncategorize…

I won’t win any art awards, but am proud to be the mayor-elect of @WestVanDistrict. Greeted lots of smiles, thumbs up and horn-honking this morning in gratitude.

A lovely autumn day to cast a ballot. I thank my team, supporters and donors for the honour to run for the @WestVanDistrict mayoralty. Deepened my love of the community.

Final day of campaigning. Gorgeous weather in a beautiful community. On the Seawalk in @WestVanDistrict. Vote tomorrow!

I have written an (admittedly lengthy) essay reflecting on my mayoralty campaign in @WestVanDistrict. I hope it helps define your vote Saturday: kirklapointe.ca/campaign-not…

I am honoured to have the support in my candidacy for mayor of a wide range of civically engaged @WestVanDistrict residents and British Columbian business and community leaders, including former mayors, cabinet ministers and a former premier. I believe in having all views at the table, and as you can see, we have a healthy and growing mix of perspectives in the group.

Council candidates for @WestVanDistrict in the final discussion and debate. My turn next in the mayoralty talk.

We have been blessed with great weather this long weekend to celebrate our gratitude for our families, friends and community. West Vancouver offers us the finest environment to enjoy, and in my campaign to become mayor I have valued the support of a broad range of local and regional voices for guidance and insights as Ive developed a vision for the years ahead. I thank my family, my team of advisors and the dozens who have staged meet-and-greet events, donated time and resources, and brought their support through emails, calls and lovely talks on our streets, in coffee shops and all over the community. Today I am posting an initial list of more than 60 endorsements. Some are prominent names like our two most recent former mayors and former federal and provincial cabinet ministers, some are well-known business and community leaders here and elsewhere in B.C., but very importantly many of them are civically engaged from different walks of life who chose to find me in this campaign and lend their voices, networks and energy.

Enjoyed being included in this roster for a short talk on community issues with @bobmackin. Thanks!

Doorknocking today and finding an appetite for change. Appreciative of the support at the doors.

A very lively time tonight at the @WestVanDistrict mayoralty debate. I raised questions from my website post on an attempted real estate deal.
