we started a project at opencode for building high-quality cross-platform native apps easily. we're all committing directly to it through ai and it's super fun we're able to do crazy things with ai like perfectly match macOS font rendering. @kitlangton did an initial impl and now I'm getting it pixel perfect

It’s pretty fucking good.
background compaction just landed in @opencode as a experimental setting go try it out and tell us what you think

Basically, no more waiting for compactions. It just goes away

I reworked the Hex homepage for no reason πŸ˜… Try it out for all your speech to text needs. It's free, multi-platform, and pretty good. Also, I just added added faster Parakeet streaming models, so dictation's even faster now.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how to optimize the feedback loop between me + the robots. Both how to best steer and view their outputs as well as how to most effectively critique them. Scrawl is my best effort at addressing the 2nd case. I'm extremely happy with it.

I might also just add this feature to Hex. And I can use that as my general human to robot communication app.

inspired by @joshpuckett & @ggsimm's work I wanted more controls, hotkeys for everything, randomization, locking, variants, etc.

If you're still not using speech to text, do give it a try. You can ramble like a madman about ten different projects, and the agents will have no trouble understanding you. Also, of course, πš˜πš™πšŽπš—πšŒπš˜πšπšŽ 𝟸.𝟢 will have no trouble delegating to the relevant sessions.

In The Nature of Technology, I came across a passage about how aircraft had to be designed for "inherent stability," but the arrival of fly-by-wire systems facilitated the production of "inherently unstable" crafts, which would've been previously unpilotable.
