We are in the final stretch of the @BicycleCasino Big Poker Oktober, and some familiar names are sitting on top of the POS. But a sleeper emerges?? 🥷
The top of the POY tightens a little bit, but the top five is holding steady. The Mini Mega this weekend is going to be a lot of points, and can shake up the standings dramatically!

If you thought it was already hard to find work in tech, see what happens when 60k(!!) Microsoft employees flood the market at the end of the year.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to around 60,000 employees, according to reports from Business Insider and Bloomberg.
The move marks Microsoft’s latest efforts to cut costs and rework its workforce for AI.
Employees at the vice president level and below on select teams in the U.S., Canada, India, and the U.K. will be eligible, the reports say. Some employees, including those working in data centers, sales and marketing, are excluded.

This week may be a big inflection point for the singularity. We’ve put AI bot vs AI bot in low stakes playgrounds like chatting and gaming. This week, agents were discovered finding security vulnerabilities on the web across the entire tech stack, and may have been for a while.
It does not appear humans will be able to keep up with this. So the next logical conclusion is implementing other AI agents to defend against the bad actors.
For the first time, we will be relinquishing control over something major to agent vs agent. And who knows what comes next.

Curious who is contending for Player of the Year at @WynnPoker and @VenetianPoker? EV1 Leagues got you fam 👊
Leading POY at the Wynn is Ben Palmer @Bennyp03, who is also #5 at Venetian, with 35 combined cashes across both (most overall), for $265k in earnings.
Leading at Venetian is an absolute end boss??? Sergei Saakian @sergd with 29 cashes (??) and 11 wins (??) just at the Venetian??
Other notables: Jeremy Becker @Jbex2417 sits in top 15 in both (Wynn 4, Venetian 11) as well as Qing Liu (Venetian 10, Wynn 14). Other high scorers include Andrew Rodgers (Venetian 2, Wynn 28), Elvyn Santos @elvynbello (Wynn 13, Venetian 39) and still finds time to come crush LA events ☠️, Evan Sandberg (Venetian 14, Wynn 40), and Stephen Foutty (Wynn 20, Venetian 23)
Donnell Dais @legendary_spree sits #3 at Venetian with an impressive 18 cashes and 6 wins of his own. Christopher Hull who is #2 at the Wynn won 3 events in 3 days (Mar 9, 10, 11), and Adam Walton who took 3rd in the 2023 @wsop Main, is sitting #6 at Venetian.

We all know the term “don’t tap the glass”. But there is nuance. If a player at the table who genuinely seems inquisitive and is looking to improve asks me something, I will tell them, or pull them off the table and tell them.
If a player is arrogant and combative, I will have 0 incentive to help, and will prefer letting them continue believing whatever completely wrong thing they want to argue with everyone about. Ie don’t tap the glass. This is a slam dunk fist pump example of the latter.

Is there anything going on in the poker community that is for the common good, and looks to grow poker in a non self-serving way?
If you’re wondering what it’s like in Vegas nowadays, when it comes to public games bigger than a $5/$10NL game.. Here’s a story of what happened last night.
After seeing a small wait list forming, I tried to start a public $10/$20NL game at the Wynn.
