man even when they lose now i can’t be mad. this is a really nice answer from the captain
Auston Matthews on Easton Cowan taking the blame for the loss:
“We win as a team and lose as a team. It’s not on one individual guy. I took 2 penalties with less than 10 minutes to go when we’re trying to tie up the game.
“There’s a number of factors that go into losses and wins. We stick together as a team. It’s all 20 guys that were on the ice, and we’ve got to be better in different areas. But it’s definitely not on one guy.”

With an assist on William Nylander’s third period goal, Auston Matthews recorded the 800th point of his NHL career.
Matthews becomes the fastest player in franchise history to reach the 800-point milestone (703 GP) and becomes just the fourth player in franchise history to record 800 points with the club.
