Spending the day prepping my speech for tomorrows largest conference for future Hospitality Leaders delivered by The Institute of Hospitality @IoH_Online in London.
Yes, its been a disappointing week for Hospitality, but I strongly believe we are the best sector to help get young people into work.
When my sons old enough, I'll be encouraging him to get a part time job to help him through college, as it's the best way to learn life skills, that can't be taught sat behind a desk.

Tell that to SME owners working 90-hour weeks, covering shifts and paying themselves last as employer NI costs, high VAT and every other costs if doing business bite
Derogatory and out of touch. She must clarify, and apologise if that’s her view.
We hope this was a terrible mistake brought on by the nervousness and pressure of her live television interview, but it needs correcting.
Emma Reynolds should publicly clarify her comments and apologise if that was her meaning. The people risking their homes, livelihoods and health to sustain businesses and jobs deserve better.

My employer owns a small hospitality company consisting of a hotel, a B&B and a restaurant with guest accommodation employing 20-25 people. He works at least 50 hours a week normally much more.
And yet this idiot, Emma Reynolds, would say he’s not a working people. Ffs 🤬

Lucy Powell wrote to John Healey in September seeking a rise in the salary threshold above which graduates must use 9% of income on paying the debts
Healey rejected the call and announced no change in the Budget. He did not respond directly to Powell’s letter; Emma Reynolds, his deputy, wrote back instead
An estimated 5.5 million people are on ‘Plan 2’ loans, whose repayment terms are controversial. Higher earners on them face an effective tax rate of 51%
Powell, whose son is on a Plan 2 loan, calls it “egregious” and “unfair”. And yet… the Treasury has declined to act.
