Jesse Hoffman Jr., who is scheduled to die tonight at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, was convicted of a brutal crime committed in 1996.
At the age of 18, Hoffman abducted Mary "Molly" Elliott, a 28-year-old advertising executive, at gunpoint from a parking garage in New Orleans on the night before Thanksgiving. He forced her to withdraw $200 from an ATM, then raped her and shot her to death.
Prosecutors stated that Hoffman confessed to the crime, and during the act, Elliott begged for her life, to which he responded by shooting her in the head.
This conviction for kidnapping, rape, and first-degree murder led to his death sentence, which is set to be carried out using nitrogen gas, marking Louisiana's first execution in 15 years and its first use of this method.
A duck hunter found her at 7:45 a.m. the next day on Thanksgiving, 1996.
The murder shocked Elliott’s family and friends, who described her as a vivacious, warm, loving woman.
"Molly was a cherished person who missed out on motherhood, a promising and successful career, and a life in the country on the property we bought together," her husband, Andy Elliott said today.
Now he’s begging for his life!?
NO MERCY!
