for real did they just cut the green line trains in half and not tell us? I waited 20+ minutes at rush hour monday and it’s approaching that today, plus in the mornings it’s been 3x more packed than usual
today there was a guy on the green line who was as tall as the train & had to keep his head down the whole ride
I feel like he had well over a foot on me. how tall are the train cars? not to sound like a 6th grader but ~6’7”?
celebrity makeup artist patrick ta sues cvs for trademark infringement after discovering the chain sold his branded beauty products w/o his authorization
under first sale doctrine, someone who lawfully acquires branded goods can resell them freely w/o infringing...
BUT
...one exception to the doctrine is material alteration
ta argues the product CVS purchasers get is actually materially different, & not covered by first sale doctrine, because the products don't come w/ the same warranty & customer-service protections
another exception can exist where the sale creates a likelihood of confusion. here, ta thinks it matters that cvs purchasers will be misled into thinking the sale is authorized by him when it isn't.

been feeling low-key insane for months b/c my phone & computer are consistently 2 minutes apart. like do i join the 3:00 meeting when my phone says 3 or 2 minutes later when my laptop says 3?
anyway just noticed outlook is giving me emails timestamped in the future
had such a great time today at the @nusl@NUSLclic open house!
i got to talk with colleagues & IP-curious students about the center for law, information & creativity & the NU events, courses, certificates, groups, & co-ops related to studying IP, privacy, & technology law 😍
a reminder to all law students: you don't need a STEM background to be an IP lawyer--only utility patent prosecution requires patent bar passage (which requires you completed a particular major or sufficient hours of study in a STEM field):

patent litigation remains open to all lawyers, as does all kinds of trademark, copyright, trade secret, right of publicity, sports & entertainment law, & other transactional IP work outside of patent pros
A Florida man was found dead in his home during a welfare check in July 2022. Weeks later, one of the officers who discovered his body moved into the home and spent years impersonating him, according to investigators. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/off…

thanks, federal circuit
well this is just silly because NONE of these new england things--fall leaves, coffee milk, lobster rolls, new haven pizza, ben & jerry's & dunkin--is overrated & all pretty much make life worth living?
not to mention represent just about all the crucial food & foliage groups
