Attention California journalists: Your colleagues from @LBMGuild at the Long Beach Post are still on strike.
This is a publication whose chairman has threatened to sue his own reporters for libel. No job, especially this one, is worth scabbing for.
The @LongBeachPost is interviewing to replace our reporters who are on strike against the company and CEO’s unfair labor practices. We know jobs for reporters are scarce but crossing the picket line is never the right choice.
SCABBING HURTS EVERY WORKER.

Congress has reauthorized Section 702, granting warrantless surveillance power plus adds giving NSA access to comms equipment of almost any US business. “It’s a gift to any president who may wish to spy on political enemies, journalists, ideological opponents” says @LizaGoitein
It’s over (for now). A majority of senators caved to the fearmongering and bush league tactics of the administration and surveillance hawks in Congress, and they sold out Americans’ civil liberties. Section 702 has been reauthorized, not just without any meaningful reforms… 1/10
