In our latest MagicOS demo, we talked our way through designing. No typing needed. Here’s what we made along the way: - Logo animations in a few different brand colors - Sound effects for each one - Three end screen layouts - Everything side by side on the infinite canvas so we could compare Full demo here 👇 piped.video/watch?v=SqczJEmF…

Last round of design icks - which ones did you resonate with?

🤢 what are your biggest design icks?

Tip: You can transfer ownership of any design in Magic Patterns. Just add the new owner to the design, then click “Transfer ownership.”

How does a fast-moving fintech actually leverage AI design tools? This Thursday, Roberto (Roe) Mendoza, Founding Product and Growth Lead at Kordis, walks through his team’s product development workflow. When @ESO_Solutions tested nearly every AI design tool, they ended up choosing Magic Patterns. Designers, PMs, and engineers scored the tools on impact, confidence, and effort to adopt. The deciding factor? Magic Patterns was a valuable tool their entire team could actually use. In this clip from @jayneil, ESO shares how they evaluated the options and why Magic Patterns was the right fit.

Everyone is talking about taste and how to make design better, so we asked designers at ValioCon "what's your biggest design ick"?

Opus 5.5 is now available in Magic Patterns. In our internal evals, it matched Opus 5’s quality while using 33% fewer tokens. That means your credits go further, giving you more room to explore ideas and refine your designs.

We had a great time @ValioCon! Join everyone later for the official Sendoff Lunch + Happy Hour at 1:30pm, just down the street from the theater. Flying Pig Pub & Kitchen 🍻 Address: 509 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92054

We’re in town for San Diego Design Week! We had a blast at @xdsandiego’s AI + prototyping event Monday night. Next up: our co-founder @alexdanilowicz joins the “Future of Product Design” panel at Valio Con later today and the "Systems, Prototypes, Patterns, and Products: Closing the Design-to-Dev Gap" panel at DDX on Thursday. If you’re around this week, come say hi! 👋

Are you a builder in the Philadelphia area? Join us September 22 at 6pm at Indy Hall for a free AI Builder meetup with fellow designers, PMs, and builders. Come swap ideas, learn from other teams such as @try_headway and @FreedomMortgage, and meet people figuring out what’s next in product building. The best product tours don’t feel like product tours. Our onboarding appears while first-time users are already waiting for their design to generate, helping them learn the product without adding another step to their workflow.

Happy Friday! You can now upload PDFs to update your designs. Drop in a deck, spec, or doc and the agent uses it as first-class context for the next prompt.

Introducing Magic Patterns on Duo 👀 New screen? Already designing for it. Use custom viewports to design for any screen, in any size. Even one that folds.

Ever feel overwhelmed by tech jargon? You're not alone. In our recent best practices session, we simplified the world of MCPs/Plugins/Connectors among AI tools and uncovered how you can leverage Magic Patterns where you already work.

When they say their entire workflow is still in Figma in 2026

Happy Friday! Here's what's new in Magic Patterns this week:

Did you know you can reference anything from another Magic Patterns design just by pasting its link into your prompt? Reuse a layout, component, or visual direction without explaining everything from scratch.

Magic Patterns is officially available as a plugin in ChatGPT and Codex! Codex is great at turning a clear design into working code. But without a dedicated design workflow, it often starts building before you’ve figured out what the product should actually look like. The Magic Patterns plugin lets you explore the UI visually first, then carry that design context directly into implementation. With the plugin, you can: ✅ Generate and iterate on product designs ✅ Explore multiple UI directions before writing code ✅ Design with your existing components and brand ✅ Bring the finished design into Codex to build Go from idea → design → working product without rebuilding the context at every step. Install the Magic Patterns plugin: chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_a…

Portland, you were a great time 🌲🍩 We spent last night at Magic Patterns Meetup - Portland meeting local builders, swapping ideas, and talking about what everyone is creating with AI. Thanks to everyone who came out, grabbed some swag, and made our first Portland meetup one to remember. Where should we go next?

Magic Patterns Meetup - PDX Tonight. See you there!

Watch how @ToastTab cut prototype prep from weeks to days with Magic Patterns The team already knew the restaurant experiences they wanted to test. The bottleneck was turning those ideas into realistic prototypes that looked like Toast and could hold up in customer research. Magic Patterns "tremendously changes the way we design for restaurant and retail operators,” Aditi Thota, a Principal Product Designer, says.

Come join the discussion. We're on the front page of Hackernews right now with our latest Magic Patterns Labs experiment. Build your own theme park.

What happens when a childhood obsession becomes part of your job? RollerCoaster Tycoon is a classic computer game where you build and manage your own theme park. One of our engineers, @alexlee_, grew up playing it and recently recreated that experience inside Magic Patterns. He tracked down the rides, rivers, paths, and scenery, then taught our AI agent how to use those building blocks to create complete theme parks. Although a bit silly, it turned out to be a serious product learning for our engineering team about how to improve our MCP and design systems. Now the design system is open for anyone to use for free. Build your own custom 3D world in Magic Patterns and show us what you create.

"this is REALLY f***** cool guys." "This is great - I had it manually create these different states for me, so this should make things easier (and cleaner)." Our latest Controls feature allows you to compare variants and tune details with the Controls panel and the community is ♥️ it.

Today we’re releasing Controls in Magic Patterns! We noticed customers prompting in their own control bars, so now you can use controls to edit the dynamic properties of your design. For example, if you need to control different loading states or variants. Get started by prompting our design agent to add Controls of the specific things you want to see.

Hitting ”/” jumps to the prompt input Press / anywhere in the editor to automatically jump to the prompt input and start typing.

Compare design variants with Controls Controls let you switch between intentional variants and tune meaningful design details directly in the preview.

Some exciting improvements this week. Compare design variants with Controls and new keyboard shortcuts!

Export your slide decks to Figma Slide decks now export to Figma. Copy your deck in Magic Patterns and paste it into Figma, the same way you already do with designs.

Happy Friday! Here's what's new in Magic Patterns this week:

Why did @try_headway choose Magic Patterns for design sprints? Their design system lives in it, no PRDs required, and powerful collaboration. The Headway product team is one of the best we've worked with and they're hiring: headway.co/careers

Is this you or someone you know?

One of our most useful features is also one that many people don’t know exists: Screens. Figma made it easy to see an entire product laid out screen by screen. Interactive prototypes made it possible to experience how the product actually works. Screens gives you both. See every page and understand the full flow at a glance. Then double-click any screen to jump directly into that part of the interactive prototype.

New onboarding tips We’ve added helpful onboarding tips that appear as designs load, guiding you through best practices and key features as you work.

Edit Design Systems from your designs You can now edit your Design System directly from your designs without leaving the editor.

New designs are now private by default Designs are no longer public by default. To make a design viewable by anyone who wasn’t invited by email, publish it from the Publish tab in the Share panel and share the public URL.
