#rustlang is so lovely to write and read. Code from here: users.rust-lang.org/t/elegan…

I'm still trying to put my finger on what it is about #rustlang that makes it so appealing... What is the magic feeling that Rust gives me every time you use it?

three and a half million #rustlang users, and counting, if you were wondering

I've stopped believing that the learning curve is a real problem for #rustlang's growth and adoption. It just doesn't seem to be stopping very many people from actually using it... look at growth numbers! Same with compile times, btw.

I'm starting to feel like the #rustlang discourse is shifting towards the "I hate Rust because of xyz" stage of popularity. That's a good thing!

Bad sleep just destroys my rhythm and productivity. It's disturbing!

I see so many potential great applications of github.com/boustrophedon/ext… πŸ€”. It might be too heavy rn to use in every application (+ no x-platform support), but I imagine the ergonomics can be significantly improved. It could protect against a lot of supply chain attacks. #rustlang

I've been daily-driving @zeddotdev for a while now. It's improving VERY rapidly, quickly burning down my worst issues with it. Additionally, it's SO SNAPPY! 🏎️ VS Code could never.

Wow, I just heard that #rustlang upcoming Cranelift backend can be configured *per dependency*. That means that during development, deps that won't need to recompile often can be compiled with LLVM, while your main bin/lib can be compiled with Cranelift.

Boa.js + Servo + Tauri + x = fully type safe web browser... solve for x?

Making errors or faults inexpressible is probably the biggest strength of #rustlang, not just through its borrow checker but as a mentality in its entire ecosystem. I can't help wondering about other ways that this principle can be applied around software, hardware, and beyond…

37% improvement in #rustlang compile times over the last 4 years. That's huge! Big props to the compiler team, and especially anyone working on these optimisations!
