I understand the issue of an uncontrollable proliferation of papers, but people are telling on themselves when they say, "how can you READ that many papers, let alone WRITE them?" and you look and it's like 15 papers.

I’ve just had the occasion to read Dorothy Sayer’s altogether lovely essay on “The lost tools of learning,” which would do well to return the current conversation on educational priorities. “For the sole true end of education is simply this: to teach men how to learn for themselves; and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain.”

People can't really know what #RaysUp fans are feeling today. The franchise went from total destruction and no future, to new owners, a repaired Trop, a new (TAMPA) stadium coming in 2029, HUGE trade deadline, and AL East title and a pennant...all from these ashes: #ForTampaBay

Nearly everything written on AI begins with comparisons to biological life — but it’s much more interesting to consider why AI is *different* than biological intelligence. Take this passage; “Yes, everything alive is a computer,” right after describing features of life which no computer in existence contains (replication, evolutionary selection, …).
