This is not the exception. This is how they operate
Story Time: Buckle up for this one. Patient called today pissed off. They weren’t pissed at me, more so pissed at their insurance company @DevotedHealth and @CVSHealthPBM For the past month, @DevotedHealth has been pestering them about switching their medications over to their mail order @CVSHealthPBM First it was atorvastatin and Jardiance, because they said the patient would have “cheaper” copays. The patient called us to verify those prices. Our prices were identical to what they would have paid at mail order. Patient told @CVSHealthPBM NO! They wanted to stay local. A few days later, patient gets a message from @CVSHealthPBM stating they had two prescriptions waiting to be sent to the patient. Just needed the go ahead to mail them out. It was for the same 2 prescriptions they had said no to a few days prior. Patient called them back and told them no, they want to continue getting them locally…. That was the end of it. Until today… Patient called back and said now @CVSHealthPBM has another prescription for metformin ready for me and has already mailed it out. It’s a prescription we have been filling at our independent pharmacy all of this calendar year at a $0 copay. Patient told them, I didn’t authorize you to get this prescription ready for me at mail order, how did you receive the prescription? @CVSHealthPBM told them that their Dr. had authorized a new prescription for them. Patient calls their Dr. Dr. states they never sent a prescription to mail order @CVSHealthPBM So, let me sum this up and put a nice little bow on it for you: @CVSHealthPBM requested a new prescription from patient’s Dr. without their consent. @CVSHealthPBM prepared the new prescription for patient without their consent. And finally, @CVSHealthPBM mailed out the prescription for the patient without their consent. I don’t know who is ultimately at fault for this, but it’s damn sure not the patient… The patient keeps saying NO, but @CVSHealthPBM says we don’t give a shit, we’re going to do it anyway. @CMSGov @DrOzCMS @RobertKennedyJr @realDonaldTrump

Americans now owe $1.68 trillion on car loans — more than credit card debt and nearly equal to all federal student loans combined. The average monthly payment on auto loans for new cars has risen to $680, which is 40% higher than in 2018. fortune.com/2026/05/07/ameri…

Right or Wrong ? Switching costs for consumer AI, won't approach zero until there is a standardized export format for what is in a model's memory. The more a consumer uses a model, the more it's memory stores. The more work to export and import I'm not saying it can't be done. Obviously you can import from one model to another. But for regular users, that's a lot more difficult than saving to an xls or doc file Curious what people think ?

Using Robots and AI, and smart people, Cost Plus Drugs have shrunk the ability to manufacture a line of drugs to the size of a tractor trailer. It can be shipped anywhere. It can be daisy chained to scale. Each Pod can be used for a different type of medication. Including N of 1 therapies.

AI won’t take your job. Someone who knows how to use AI better than you, will take your job.
We’re already starting to see what kind of new jobs AI is creating. AI requires significant technical work and surrounding services to deploy into the economy. This means jobs for AI engineers that build applied AI products sold to (or within) enterprises, FDEs to deploy agents into companies, new services firms for deploying AI, and more. And even the published stats of new jobs undercount all the existing jobs that are transitioning to new areas of AI work in an enterprise. Many prior data, research, and software jobs large enterprises are also being repositioned for working with AI. Every bank, life sciences company, manufacturer, and even law firm is bringing on more technical talent -or repositioning existing roles- to help with agent deployment in their companies. It’s a lot easier to picture what AI can replace vs. what it creates until it starts happening. Now we’re seeing what this looks like.

It’s really simple. Our Robots and AI vs their Robots and AI. If we can catch up on robotics/software , and can stay ahead on AI, there is zero reason manufacturing won’t come back, or initiate here. At Cost Plus Drugs, the only thing holding us back from making generic drugs cheaper in Dallas than we can buy from Asia, are the fees we have to pay.
American-made products are not impossible. Stories about iPhones costing $37,000 or laptops costing $100,000 are psy-ops, sometimes pushed by foreign adversaries but more commonly by American corporations that want anything but an upset to the status quo.

This can't be legal , can it ? Any healthcare lawyers do people bono work ?
Quick update for this saga… Patient called back today with their newly-issued mail-order prescription in hand. The prescription in question wasn’t even written by their primary physician. It came from a prescriber they had never heard of/or seen. I researched the provider on my own, come to find out they have 2 practice addresses: 1 in Ohio and the other in Eagan, MN. PO BOX 211699 Guess who is located in Eagan, MN? Devoted Medical Group Professional Corporation and related Devoted Medical practices. So, @DevotedHealth utilized one of their very own physicians to issue a fraudulent prescription for a patient who they’ve never seen or even knew. Then shipped it off to the patient without their consent, thinking the patient wouldn’t question it? Wow.

Until you also get transparency at the contract level, the big conglomerates will find ways to game the system. Make Gag Clauses and redactions of any kinds in healthcare contracts, with any state or federal agency, and we have a chance. And allowing patients to have cash pay our bases that are less than their OOP cost is also critical
Americans have a right to know what healthcare costs before the bill shows up. Thanks to President Trump’s new healthcare price transparency rules, you will know the cost before you receive the bill. That is how we start bringing costs down for the American people.

No Any electronic product benefits from tech improvements , but requires there be no component or other scarcity. (See critical minerals risk, memory and GPUs scarcity, forcing up pricing ) Housing - government can make it worse for sure, by introducing artificial scarcity. But we aren’t making any new land, we are exporting home buyers, and we aren’t making enough babies Builders require growth. When there is population scarcity, they stop building. Education and Healthcare both require some level of hands on, human delivered, personalization, and customization. Which, as any investor will tell you, is far harder to scale profitably. That said, both suffer from individuals who try to extract as much as they can for personal gain, and use regulatory capture to capture to exclude those who would create more value for less cost.
Marc Andreessen reveals why housing, health care, and education keep getting more expensive while everything else gets cheaper "There's basically three components to the American dream. A house near great job opportunities, great health care for you and your family, and sending your kids to good schools" "If you disaggregate the economy over the last 25 years, everything that technology touches basically collapses in price. Television sets, computer games, anything with electronics in it. But if you chart housing, education, and health care, the prices of those things are skyrocketing" "The government restricts supply, zoning laws and university certifications. And then the government responds to the political pressure caused by the rising prices by subsidizing demand. And of course, if you subsidize demand and a fixed supply, you get skyrocketing prices"
