New Ep! Asian copperleaf is showing up in more Iowa fields, but where did it come from and why is it thriving? Joe and Sarah sit down with @mjanders1 and Wesley Everman (Iowa State Univ) as they discuss the spread, research, and potential implications of Asian copperleaf.
This made me giggle. There are definitely some fields in Iowa that will need it this year but I doubt we’ll get around to it with the weather we’re having!
It was a gorgeous plot harvest day today! Collecting grain samples in each plot was an adventure and I’ll surely be finding soybean residue remnants in my hair and clothes for days. #ISUCrops
Soybean seed diseases are showing up in Iowa, which isn’t surprising with the wet weather. Recent rain is a double whammy for farmers as it favors fungal development and keeps combines from getting in the field.

Agree! Watch for suspicious looking amaranths this time of year as well! Palmer will have females with sharp spines on the inflorescences, and longer, thicker inflorescences than waterhemp!
