Today, Consensys Software Inc. (CSI) is becoming two independent companies.
CSI will continue as the same company and rebrand as MetaMask, operating the MetaMask platform and its consumer-facing products, with Joe Lubin as Chairman and CEO.
CSIβs Protocols Group and institutional blockchain infrastructure business, including Linea and its broader portfolio of enterprise and Ethereum protocol infrastructure, will become a newly formed company, named Consensys, under Mike Kriak (CEO), David Cunningham (President), Declan Fox (CPO), with Joe Lubin as Executive Chairman.
This evolution reflects a turning point in both markets CSI has built over the past decade: consumer self-custody has moved into mainstream financial behavior, while institutional demand has moved from pilots to production. Each now requires its own operating model, dedicated leadership and focused investment strategy to scale.

Shoutout to @sukunrt and @_pk910_ for doing all the work!
And thanks to @ethPandaOps and @parithosh_j for letting us tag onto their huge 1000 node Glamsterdam testbed
my view at @ProtocolGuild - here's the current ethereum core protocol political economy: 15 orgs and 32 teams deeply engaged in the upgrade process
lots of institutional succession this year + more changes to come π it's critical we fund independent teams where gaps emerge!
To understand how the Fast Confirmation Rule achieves these impressive results, why it is safe, and the assumptions under which its guarantees hold, take a look at the new version of our technical report published last week.
arxiv.org/abs/2405.00549
We built a simulator for the fast confirmation rule, and replayed a years worth of blocks and attestations on Mainnet.
Across 800,000 mainnet slots, roughly 96 out of every 100 slots would have been fast-confirmed within 12 seconds.
Zero false confirmations.

happy april fools' day βοΈ ~ to counter the fake news on your feed, @malleshpai, @mkalinin2, and i are sharing "Adding flexibility to Ethereum's exit queue," an article outlining and motivating our recent EIP to improve the efficiency of validator withdrawals.
supporting in-protocol validator consolidation is a must-have feature in EIP-7251 (increasing the MAX_EFFECTIVE_BALANCE). @fradamt, @mkalinin2, and i wrote up a doc to answer some common questions and explain how it all fits together!

new article about slashing in Ethereum! βοΈπͺ@barnabemonnot and i deep dive the scaling properties of the 4 penalties levied against slashed validators. we propose two modifications to help de-risk consolidation under EIP-7251 (increasing the MAXEB).
