Can AI finally create intelligently varied practice? Really interesting post from the “most dangerous and clueless man in maths education”: the incomporable @mrbartonmathseedi.substack.com/p/can-ai-f…
If it's useful, I have started converting my variation theory resources into more attractive worksheets, plus a full presentation mode for your whiteboard. Free, no ads. More to come: mrbartonmaths.com/minimally-…

There's been a lot of moral posturing and panic about Alpha School of late. Listen to this conversation with @mrbartonmaths and @jliemandt for a clear overview. In fact, listen to the whole series a fair balance of pros and cons. eedi.substack.com/p/ai-in-ed…
Another clip from my interview with @jliemandt, explaining why AI is education's microsope in terms of what we will learn about memory and learning science. Listen in full by searching for the Mr Barton Maths podcast.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Alpha School principal Joe Liemandt. Can Alpha scale? Is Alpha just good at selecting clever kids? Is the data they collect gold dust for learning science? What is the future of the teaching profession???? Listen on the Mr Barton Maths Podcast
If you want a bit of summertime listening, I really enjoyed this conversation with my good friend @ollie_lovell, where we discussed the We Do and delivering effective CPD. It's also got an explicit language rating, so be warned. Available on the ERRR podcast feed.
We're looking for a small number of schools to help shape the next generation of AI maths tutoring, and we're on a very tight deadline (31 July!), so I'm posting in case it reaches the right people. Full details are here: linkedin.com/posts/craig-bar…
In possibly the most niche, geeky episode I have ever recorded (and that's saying something), I spoke to @Kris_Boulton about designing a teaching and testing sequence for volume of a prism. Available now on the Mr Barton Maths Podcast.
@mrbartonmaths I put out my monthly newsletter to my dept about construction. I will have a think about how I can share more widely. Thank you for the chat recently about sharing my newsletter and the best way to do so.
Construction (perpendicular bisector)
I have a monthly newsletter that I send out to my dept. thought I’d share it here as it’s all about construction

I really appreciate this AI in Education series from @mrbartonmaths. I agree with the guests on some things, disagree on others and, on some topics, I have no idea what I think right now. It is definitely thought provoking!
The latest guest on my AI in Education series is @dylanwiliam. Dylan, as ever, is full of pearls of wisdom, including this one, where he argues that the extra data AI tutors gather about student learning might not be as useful as it seems. Full episode on Mr Barton Maths Podcast.

The old dividing line in education used to be progressive v traditional (discovery v explicit) but the new divide is rapidly becoming those who see AI as a potential tool for learning and those who see it as the end of days.
One of the few people who are thinking clearly about AI in education today is @Kris_Boulton and this is a conversation with @mrbartonmaths worth listening to for anyone wanting to learn more. eedi.substack.com/p/ai-in-ed…
