He really did it. He built a fucking flying car.

However good this first iteration is, the signs are all there that this space is now maturing out of the skeuomorphic phase and into the ai native phase. @runwayml Solaris, Intelligent UI, #Clicky etc all indicators that HCI is converging into a fundamentally new form factor.
GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, now rolling out in ChatGPT for everyone. Intelligent UI in ChatGPT delivers fast, interactive answers that make everyday questions more visual, complex topics easier to grasp, and interactive tools for your task available on the spot.

The progress from Tavus has been extraordinary. I think back to their early demos & others avatar/audio models that crossed the uncanny valley like Sesame or bidirectional like GPT Live and it’s not what the models do but rather what the change in user behaviours unlocks.
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Community note
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard. cellcog.ai/blog/tavus-gri… research.nvidia.com/labs/amri/proj… tech-ish.com/2026/10/02/tav…

I was feeling mentally exhausted, relieved and creatively bankrupt after the CEER cars launched, but listening to @nilsleonard @rorysutherland Mail Unleashed pod i feel energised to go again. Designers should regularly listen to marketing creatives, great for perspective

the uk government's official ai guidance tells civil servants to use gemini flash instead of pro, keep prompts short, and not say thank you to it, for the environment i do wonder at which point we forked the road. instead of building and using it to automate the work, we write guidance on how to use less of it we have the attitude of a high school prefect. caring more about the rules than actually doing the work

Between @runwayml Solaris @sabi’s brain computer interface #ACTx486 from @karinanguyen & @jakubzeg below I suspect the form factors we’ve adopted for AI models will start to look like a skeuomorphic phase as ai native interfaces proliferate

@OdinLovis any ideas how they’re doing this. I suspect this is using a fast model as i started a similar research project after @levelsio infinite slop but this is refined. In summary as token get too cheap to measure I can see massive ad rev opportunities here. Interesting

This is what we’ve been working on the last few years in Saudi Arabia. More than the vehicles, an entire automotive industry. I woke up feeling l proud to be a part of this from the first group in the design team. What a ride.

Introducing Phoenix-4.5, the fastest and most expressive real-time human rendering model on the market. More natural than ever before: richer facial animation, more expressive emotion and micro-movements, and movement that now extends through the upper body. It is the closest AI has ever come to passing the Turing test face to face.

With that said I have absolutely no doubt Google have a Nano Banana update in the chamber. Image synthesis is in the ‘last mile’ zone of development. The hardest challenges that deliver the largest performance gains

This solves so many issues in the design studio. PaGeR was great for depth estimation from a Pano image, World Tracing from WorldLabs showed signs of solving occlusion but having this a unified in a single model is special. Great work @theworldlabs
Introducing Atlas: The world's first multimodal world model that generates image and video frames with pixel-perfect camera control and reconstructs them in 3D. Model the world, move the camera, and simulate space & time.

Proof everything doesn’t get better with time. I strongly encourage those new to video/ animation born out of the latest video synthesis models to go back & watch ads from the glory days. The level of creativity is unmatched. Measured on feel rather than engagement
It's an incredible cut, I would never have noticed if it wasn't pointed out. Here's another example from an ad that is 30 years old now and still blows my mind - keep an eye on the location, the jumps are quite.. spectacular.😂 @SpaceKoala @FilmJournalGuy
