I've used ChatGPT voice mode in the car for almost two years to talk through ideas, research concepts, etc. Love the idea of it. But a couple of things have driven me crazy.
It constantly stops itself mid-sentence. I assumed it was picking up background noise, but it happens in a silent room, too. Two years in, and I still have to mute myself every time I finish talking to have a coherent conversation.
Yesterday I uploaded a single doc to my session to discuss on a long drive. Picked up the same chat today , and it couldn't read the file anymore and told me to re-upload it.
Meanwhile, @bot voice has been live for about a month. Never cuts out from background noise. Stops when I interrupt, picks right back up when I'm done. And it remembers things we talked about weeks or even months ago.
Wild that a one-month-old feature is beating a two-year-old one this badly.

Some of my favorite updates to @bot from the last couple of weeks:
- Proactive bots: My chief of staff now posts on its own. For example, when it sees a meeting coming up on my calendar, it sends me a brief without being asked.
- Speed: Responses are now instant in many cases.
- Voice mode: The latest version is so damn good. I can't believe what a step change it is from the early releases. I love that it knows when we're done talking and turns itself off.
- Canvas integration: This opens up a lot more room to work when the chat UI isn't enough.
- Add to prompt: A small change, but so helpful. You can now select text in the chat and add it to the prompt you're writing with one click.

my number 1 tip for controlling your grok @bot usage is to avoid scheduled routines that run too frequently. for example, a 15 min routine runs almost 100 times a day, and every run consumes tokens. hourly or a few times a day is usually good enough.
the length of the chat with your bot can also make routines much more expensive. for recurring ones, try giving that to a fresh bot, while you continue your chat with your main bots (like a chief of staff).
give this post to your bot and ask them to help!

It takes a few days of using @bot to truly wrap your head around how to unleash its power. A huge unlock for me was discovering that agents can communicate with each other.
For example, I spend much of the year traveling the world to talk with @cursor_ai users. I used to burn hours every month booking flights and hotels. Now I have three agents that handle it for me:
Flight Agent: Knows my preferred airlines, seats, cabin class, maximum number of layovers, and more.
Hotel Agent: Knows my preferred hotel chains, minimum star rating, and required amenities, such as a gym and room service.
Travel Agent: The agent I talk to when I need to book a trip. I can say, "Book me flights and a hotel for a trip to Bangkok this Thursday to Friday." It then asks the Flight and Hotel agents to find the best options and book them, and reports the outcome back to me.
The agents use @bot's computer-use feature to navigate the @Navan website. They research and book flights and hotels that comply with company policy, then notify my colleagues on Slack about my travel plans.
