First time celebrating Onam! Loved learning the story behind the harvest festival & the yearly return of a king his people never forgot.
My brother-in-law made this incredible spread (he’s a private chef by profession so always a treat)
A16z just raised $15 billion in its largest fundraising haul earlier this year. It's interesting that they still felt the need to raise a separate $1.1 billion just for physical AI, instead of trying to stretch existing infra/growth/etc capital into the best bets.

In honor of Cursor’s exit today, resurfacing my story on them from last year — the first profile of the startup as it was skyrocketing through Silicon Valley 🚀

Last year, I interviewed @Airtable CEO @howietl about the challenge of avoiding becoming "one of the dinosaurs" as companies race to become AI-native.
With this week's news that Airtable is being acquired by Bending Spoons for $1.28B, that conversation feels especially relevant today. 👇

Ahead of the Citadel deal, Situational Awareness explored selling parts of its private portfolio to firms including Greenoaks and Sequoia Capital in its rush to raise cash
With today's SpaceX/Cursor merger news, here's the VC takeaway: Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz are the reason "concentration at all costs" is becoming a more trendy strategy in venture capital.
They're both notable SpaceX investors and make up the two largest VC stakeholders in Cursor, backing the coding startup early & more importantly, constantly.
Andreessen Horowitz was already poised to make its best return of all time from SpaceX, and is now expected to have even more exposure in the rocket/AI co. Thrive's combined stake in Cursor/SpaceX is now worth north of $10 billion.

Will discuss details of it on the show today.
This is the firm's largest haul ever.
Enjoyed this point of view from @andrewdai on valuation sensitivity at the early stages (even if you are building a neolab). Often founders think a high valuation will establish importance and dominance in ways that recruit others to join their mission - but what if it is the opposite?
