Ahead of #WorlMentalHealth Day on 10 October, this study explores the relationship between dietary restriction and depressive symptoms. Analysing data from 28,525 adults, the study found that calorie restricted diets were associated with higher depressive symptom scores, with some associations also observed among people with overweight and those following nutrient restricted diets.
