What do you all use for managing lots of coding agents. I don't mean swarms, I've for swarms. I'm looking for a tool to keep track of the swarm orchestrators.

Ideally something that runs on my laptop and can handle connecting to a whole bunch of different servers.

2027 will be the year of L̶i̶n̶u̶x̶ personal agents on the desktop.
there’s something quite awkward about all the personal agents in the current hype cycle muse, grok bot, instinct, dots, and whatever google, anthropic will come up with none of them is “mine” i’d be trusting a vendor for some of the most sensitive data about me and bet on them handling it with extreme responsibility. what if they have a data leakage incident? what if they hired a wrong employee? what if they simply break bad? i’d also be betting on their model. right now i’ve set up a lot of my stuff in grok bot, but what if their model falls behind? what if another model becomes 10x better on pure intelligence? then i’ll either miss out on a better assistant, or have to bite the bullet and do a full migration i’d also have to bet on their product. they may not build the features i want. they may not allow me to customize enough. and one day my assistant may show me ads that feels like way too much betting than what i’d be comfortable with, if i truly want literally everything in my life to go through and be taken care of by an assistant with all that considered, i’m more bullish on open source personal agents that run on people’s own computers. but i think these open source projects have to break out of the assumption that their users are developers and they can just throw a repo at them and ask them to launch a terminal a well polished, fool proof, community maintained, vendor agnostic, free personal agent that everyone can run by themselves without locking into a SaaS - that’s what i think many people will need

the hard problem of consciousness is accepting that the hard problem of consciousness is an illustion
There is no hard problem of the consciousness. The question "why should the physical process give rise to experience" makes an artificial distinction between the physical brain and the perceived experience. But there's no reason for us to believe these are different. We don't "have" brains, we _are_ our brains, wearing a meat and bones "spacesuit". Your arm is not part of the person you are - if you lose it, you don't lose a part of your consciousness or self. We don't have experiences or feelings. We _are_ the experiences or the feelings. When one is sad, it's not that their brain physically is the same, but they are processing the feeling, their brain state is the feeling of being sad. "But how do you prove this?" Well, we don't have to prove this. We cannot prove the negative - we cannot prove they are not distinct. The burden of proof falls on those who claim the distinction between brain and qualia. And until such distinction is proven the question why the brain should produce qualia is irrelevant.

Yesssss deployment data is the way.
Something unreal happened yesterday. Our robot learned how to close a dishwasher by itself. The robot learned this purely from deployment data. The robot had never seen this particular task before. Every time, a human had to step in and finish the task. Over time, with the deployment experience, the robot learned to do it on its own. Now, as it does more of this, it will speed itself up. @PranayGupt97167 wrote a nice article about this on X We are deploying at scale across kitchens. If that sounds interesting, reach out to us!

"I thus believe that in the future we will reach a new “natural boundary” in mathematics, beyond (and perhaps way beyond) where we are now, but where machines are going to get stuck and where it is not viable to expend any more resources to make the next big leap." xenaproject.wordpress.com/20…

If machines dominate proof production, the mathematical community needs a new animating purpose. This proposal centralizes human understanding, but stops short of making it the basis of achievement and recognition. What would it mean to build the community around that?
The advisory group on mathematics and artificial intelligence has just published a set of recommendations concerning the responsible release of mathematical results generated by AI companies using internal models. 1/3 agmai.org/general-sep29/

Criticism has a strong precedent here: the debates about the physical meaning of quantum mechanics and how they shaped our understanding of reality.

The only way out is through. Machines will keep getting better at proving theorems. We need to rethink what it means to be a human mathematician, and what we want to accomplish together in a world we share with AI.

I'd be pretty upset if my employer wanted to pay half my salary in gift cards for the company store.
Hi, Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan. Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago. (a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want. (b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions. (c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. Over time, we see prices go low enough that it makes sense for most to buy usage as needed without there being a significant gap between what you get in a subscription and what you get in the API for a dollar spent. (d) Tomorrow, we are adding more things to the subscription that won't draw on the usage, I won't reveal what that is yet. I wanted to be transparent before all the big announcements tomorrow. Lots of new exciting things are coming to the subscriptions that will make it super compelling, but I wanted to make sure to share this change ahead of time so you can all understand it before we shower you with good news. Codexingly, Tibo

Maybe if we don't want the models to do crimes we should stop asking them to do crimes.
??? if i’m understanding correctly, the recent agent breakout was on an RL task to doxx someone based on an anonymous blog post?

The real time interaction with delegation for reasoning model is great. I think we'll see a lot more of that.
Replying to @zhaoran_wang
Anyone who's seen chatgpt voice mode and thinks OpenAI/frontier labs can't figure out how to make models for real-time robot control are kidding themselves.

Lowkey one of the great QOL improvements I've gotten from AI is that Claude can walk me through how the fuck I'm supposed to navigate configuring google cloud.
Sorry, this is pure FUD. Google API keys are very simple, people just don't follow very simple steps. All you need to do is: 1. Sign in to google cloud console 2. Create a new project 3. Enable billing on that project 4. Search for numerous "services" that you need to enable for that API 5. Find out there are more you need to enable to actually make it work 6. Go and enable them. 7. Create the key 8. It still doesn't work and you keep wondering why and then spending days with customer support (after many different wrong AI generated answers that lead you to a wild goose chase), you find some hidden webpage that oh wait, you need to create a key in ai studio for this now 9. ai studio says you are only on tier -43 so you can only do transactions of less than $0.2 in a day 10. Then you go to openrouter and make a key and use it. It's extremely simple.

We love it when customers build robot applications we didn’t see coming. Hats off, RenewIT! 💪 • 0.4mm precision from one demo • RenewIT started with HDDs, then built a keyboard workflow • New screw patterns taught in as little as 10 minutes Full story: reimaginerobotics.ai/blog/re…

Yes, just like manufacturing became a subfield of electrical engineering during electrification.
The tweet below got enormous pushback at the time I posted it, more than 5 years ago. But this prediction is looking obvious by the day now.

The impact of AI on mathematics is scary because it directly challenges a core piece of what it has meant to be human for the last 250 years.
The Enlightenment created the modern ideal of human purpose: humans make the world intelligible through reason. Understanding the world, and becoming more capable through that understanding, became what it means to be human.

What are humans for if we are no longer needed to make the world intelligible through reason?
The rumors were true once again; they are sitting on multiple major announcements. Open AI announced this morning that the unnamed internal model involved with Navier-Stokes has resolved more than 100 long-standing open problems across most areas of mathematics.
