My decision to stay in public service has helped me fulfill my lifelong dreams: one of which has been to help clean up pollution and fight for clean air, land, and water. I’m proud to have the endorsements of @NYLCV, @SierraClub, and @NRDC_Action, who know I’ll stick with our shared mission to protect the environment!

A great evening with @nylcv! I’m grateful for their leadership in protecting our environment, tackling climate change, conserving our lands and waters, and safeguarding the health of all New Yorkers. As the top Democrat on the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Subcommittee—which funds NOAA and the National Science Foundation—I’m fighting back against the Trump Administration’s attacks on science, research, and our environment. Together, we’ll protect our planet and build a cleaner, healthier, more resilient New York for our children and grandchildren.

Last week, LIA Director of Business Development Dave Fattizzo attended “Yes In My Backyard: A Regional Leadership Summit on Solar and Battery Energy Storage,” hosted by the @nylcv and its partners on Governors Island. The summit brought together policymakers, fire safety professionals, labor representatives and industry experts to discuss the role of solar energy and battery storage in supporting a safe, affordable and reliable energy future for New York. Discussions explored community safety, workforce development, public health and grid resilience. Thank you to the organizers for bringing together regional leaders for this important conversation. Glad fire safety was in the room. New York's 6 GW by 2030 storage plan sets aside funding for downstate projects, where peaker plants are concentrated, so Long Island buy-in really matters. Did the summit get into how local fire reviews for BESS could be made more consistent?
