🎯 Keeping Justice at the Heart of the Global Agenda Yesterday, the Justice Action Coalition (JAC) convened in Istanbul, Türkiye. Chaired by Canada, hosted by the @UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub / @undpeurasia, and supported by Pathfinders as Secretariat, the meeting marked a key milestone under JAC’s new operational structure. Members focused on: 🔷 Agreeing on a shared roadmap towards the 2027 SDG Summit and beyond. 🔷 Preparing early engagement with the incoming UN Secretary-General to keep people-centered justice central to discussions on multilateralism and the next global development framework. JAC also celebrated its 2026 achievements, including a new operating model that builds on four existing workstreams to establish five thematic tracks. We also welcomed new board members: the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 and @PenalReformInt! ⏭️ Members agreed on concrete next steps to advance JAC’s 2027 workplan. Special thanks to this year’s meeting chair, Adrian Di Giovanni (@AdrianIDRC), Team Leader, Economies & Justice, at Canada’s @IDRC_CRDI. 📄 Read the meeting summary: sdg16.plus/resources/2026-hi… 🔵 Learn about JAC: justiceactioncoalition.org 📸Photos: flic.kr/s/aHBqjD8cX6 #PeopleCenteredJustice #2030Agenda

How do we know if justice interventions are actually working? And can the justice community use evidence to make better decisions about where resources should go? Justice systems have never had more data, but they have not always been able to answer the question: are people actually able to resolve their justice problems fairly and effectively? This year, @OECD published a new framework trying to answer this question. @nyucic’s @marani_fernando breaks down how this new framework could serve as a practical tool to deliver people-centered justice outcomes. 🔹 As part of the work of the #JusticeActionCoalition’s Workstream on Data and Evidence, this paper offers a common framework to help policymakers better understand what is working, where gaps remain, and where resources can have the greatest impact. The framework connects three elements that are too often considered separately: ➕ Government policy and resources. 🟤 Justice services that people actually encounter. 🧰 Outcomes those services produce. 🇹🇷 This month, the team is headed to Istanbul to advance these conversations at the annual Justice Action Coalition meeting + the #OECDRoundtable on Equal Access to Justice. 📖 Unpack more in the blog: sdg16.plus/resources/how-do-… #PeopleCenteredJustice #NYUCIC
