Nice to chat with @jordihays about the ring form factor. He really nails the point that you can only ask people to adopt so many novel behaviors at a time.

I am using my keyboard easily 50% less than I did at the start of this year. I now talk to my computer more than I type to it. And I am convinced, you can do more, faster. Seriously, you really do talk faster than you could ever type. By the end of the year I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t use a keyboard any more. Just pre-ordered the OASIS 1, this will probably be what moves me completely off of the keyboard forever.

After years in the idea maze, @oasisrick and team landed on the use case for smart rings: replacing the keyboard. “What we’re interested in is the next platform of computing.” “Are smartphones the final form? I don’t think anybody knows.” @jordihays: “Hopefully not. I’m praying every day. I want to throw it in the ocean.”

JUST IN: Oasis just launched a smart ring that works like a tiny trackpad on your finger. It’s built to control your phone, Mac, Vision Pro, music, and AI tools without pulling out a keyboard, mouse, or remote. • Built-in 2D trackpad for taps, swipes, scrolling, and shortcuts • Noise-isolating mic for private voice input • Haptics for quiet feedback on your finger • Works with iPhone, Mac, Vision Pro, Spotify, and Apple Music • Featured integration with Wispr Flow for keyboardless editing • Gets up to 16 hours of battery life Priced at $289.

We believe the future is one where keyboards, and eventually screens, become optional. But people don't change how they work overnight, so we started with something that feels natural today: enabling private dictation where speaking out loud isn’t practical paired with a trackpad that lets you edit and navigate with precision. It gives people a way to move beyond the keyboard without asking them to change everything at once.

Stay tuned for our take on mobile and cross-platform context switching. Today we start moving beyond the keyboard, tomorrow your intent follows you across every device. Many thanks to our early backers @EarthlingVC @arian_ghashghai @tankots @BrueErik @haleymbryant and more. And to @WisprFlow for showing the world what practical voice looks like.

All pictures and videos at OASIS were captured by humans, all demos are real.

as someone that comes from the wearables space (pre-VC, I worked on AR glasses and edge devices at Meta/Oculus), @oasisrick is the only guy building a wearable computer I've ever backed. The deepest-thinking builder (and grinder) I've met here, and one of the very few that has a totally plausible view of disembodied personal computers 20+ years in the future

Big show today: - @TThompson (NBA Champion) - @FounderLaberge (Omen) - @robertwachen (Etched) - @erenbali (Monogram) - @LarsenJensenUSA (Harpoon) - @oasisrick (Oasis) - @andrew__rea (Taxwire) - @im_manderson (Framework) - @IanRountree & @grant__gregory (Cantos) See you soon.

Whisper to your ring, and Wispr does the writing. @oasisdevices just launched a smart ring with a mic tuned for whispering, so you can dictate without talking out loud at your laptop. And because it's also a trackpad, you edit right from your finger. Today: voice on your Mac. Tomorrow: agentic voice everywhere. Congrats on the launch 🤝
