📣"How many pixels is it???"
To help y'all who struggles with estimating pixels, the 📐ruler feature is now live in the code editor! Turn it on/off in the editor settings or using the keyboard shortcut: Command + alt/option + /

🧑🏻💻👩💻👩🏾💻🧑🏼💻 Creativity is at its best when we code together!
Live collaboration feature, rewritten from scratch, is now available to Plus+ members, teachers, and students to code and create together.
On the same code, at the same time.
🔴🔵🟢 New Color Picker allows you to find that color you are obsessed with, and convert it to HEX/RGB/HSB/HSL format in a snap!
Now, you can also save your color palettes to use in your future @p5xjs sketches.

-- Editor Update Highlights: Day3️⃣ --
With multiple cursors and improved find & replace feature, it is now much easier and faster to make changes in your code!

===🚀New Editor Features No.2 ===
Autocomplete helps you recall the function parameters and even get a quick view of the @p5xjs documentation. Now, you can also jump between the function arguments easily with Tab key.

🚀 Over the last few weeks, we pushed lots of improvements on the code editor, and we’ll highlight each of them every day this week!
1️⃣New syntax color theme now prioritizes your variables, and Alt/Option + Click takes you directly to @p5xjs reference! openprocessing.org/sketch/27…
since the last update, I am getting drastic cascade syntax issues on code edits (tested it both on claude + GPT, so model independent issue). In particular, it adds "{{ ... }}" to the code, which seems to try to put a placeholder but without actually replacing it.
Very cool use of the OPC.bezier tool in the wild already. I love the level of parametric playfulness it adds to the sketch openprocessing.org/sketch/27…
⧽ Meet OPC.bezier() ⧼
For all your animation tweaking pleasures.
Available now along with other new controllers: OPC.title() and OPC.label() in OP Configurator 3000 library.
(I know... Gotta still find a proper name for it...)

🎬🤖A cinematic choose-your-own-adventure sketch created with @midjourney by Joe DeNavas. So nice to see AI making such sketches possible! openprocessing.org/sketch/26…
Explore sketches that use AI to create generative arts, games, and more!
Joe's AI curation is one of those to surface all the great sketches on OpenProcessing that we can learn a lot from. Now featured on the activity page!

😕Sorry to see @glitch🎏R.I.P.
@anildash and his team created a truly great platform to help spread creative coding and prove that coding is not only a tool but can be a creative hobby for all.
Here for any questions if you need to migrate your @p5xjs and @threejs projects to OP
Okay, this is embarrassing... @sableRaph broke OpenProcessing on a live stream! 😬 You are missing out if you are not watching his Weekly Creative Coding Challenge: twitch.tv/videos/2462078754?…#WCCC
🎊 Sketch Video Thumbnails are Here! 🎥
Plus+ Members can now create video thumbnails for their favorite 12 sketches to add more flair to their profiles and show the spirit of their sketches before even users click through! Check out Okazz’s profile below oppr.org/u/410675
Today's #genuary prompt "generative palette" is already creating some helpful color palette tools! Below is from Ivan Rudnicki:

Just in time! Your #genuary calendar is now live on OpenProcessing. Create a sketch every day following the prompts, and automatically fill your calendar! #genuary2025#genuary2
(Example below from @KaufmanRoni)
It is so nice to see more creative coding and @p5xjs work on the galleries and streets of Europe, this time in Halle, Belgium!
Catch this great exhibition featuring @JDeNavas89 from OpenProcessing until this Sunday 17h at Kunstencentrum Oude Post. More info below: vondel.be/agenda/3354/kunst-…
📣🎮Do you know that our awesome parameter control library OPC now has OSC (open sound control) protocol support?? Meaning you can now control your sketch parameters via OSC devices! github.com/msawired/OPC#osc-…

📣Just published a minor yet considerate update:
📅Localized date and times.
So that you make no mistakes when viewing your version history or submitting a sketch to a class before a deadline.
A full translation is always challenging, but native javascript functions make it very easy to use local dates on a website.
Made me appreciate the nuances of languages along the way. #i18n#language#dateformat#classroom
You know creative coding is changing the world one sketch at a time, when you can create sketches that you can throw yourself around.

The new @p5xjs website is live at p5js.org, with a whole new design with accessibility, new tutorials, and live community sketches from OpenProcessing!
Fantastic effort from a team that deserves a big round of 👏👏. All credits below:

It is so nice to see @shiffman in the browser with its #shiffbot. A fantastic project to experiment with AI in coding, but it doesn't work outside the US. Can anyone share their experience? Maybe we can partner to improve our AI-Assist Debugging Bot on OpenProcessing.
🎉Happy 2024, everyone!
As usual, we welcome the new year with our #genuary2024 calendar: Create a sketch following the prompt everyday, tag it with #genuary, and fill in your calendar!
Very fun prompts this year! All the thanks go to the team over at genuary.art
His work explores orphic generative landscapes and sunsets as they emerge in our thoughts and dreams. Minting starts at 2pm ET (20 CET).

Very saddened with the news of Vera Molnar's passing. We can only feel indebted to her life's work to bring digital & generative arts to where it is today.
There are 1000s of sketches on OpenProcessing, all inspired by her work, and there will be many more centuries to come that we will see her name in the exhibition halls and online... Rest in Peace, Vera.
