The goal was never to be the only one. 🫡
More hot takes: many artists collecting other artists isn't for art's sake.
It's for reciprocation and social signal.
Smaller artists often collect hoping the bigger name returns the favour and bumps their status.
And let's say that does happen. The problem is, your fellow artists, even established ones, don't move the needle in a significant way when they buy.
Moving PA, and more importantly volume, takes fck u money.
And the 1/1 niche? Almost impossible to sustain a career on rn.
Until Ossen's latest spending spree, 1/1 has been the worst place to sell your work if you're one of the 2,000 artists here.
For example, there are only about 70 1/1 collectors with real buying power, vs. 200 in larger NFT/PFP collections.
And now I worry. I see A LOT of 2021 artists sharing work again, hoping to catch a bid from Ossen. Great short-term win, but long term it still won't move the needle on your career much.
The ART space here needs at least 1,000 Ossens actively buying, selling and commissioning art en masse to even come close to a small percentage of the traditional art market.
Like I said, I've been running a lot of data across art, PFPs and tokens. I have a lot more to share.

Remember our debate about shill threads and art discovery?
X keeps feeding us what we already engage with instead of helping us discover what we’re missing.
If your timeline looks like this, maybe the algorithm isn’t the only thing to blame. 💀

They’ll spend 0.05 ETH on the promise of profit, but not on the proof of talent. 🐒
people in this space will fud a mint at 0.05eth where the artist gets paid for their time and efforts.
whilst instead casually going and blasting 0.05eth into some dead project where there is no artist in sight.
if this space is to progress and artists are to continue to create, we need to support those who put in time and effort on their work!
often an artist is burning their life savings into their passion as they grind in silence building their legacy to bring to the market. remember that!

I’ve seen more people warning others not to hate me than people actually hating me.
Projection, perhaps? 🤭
Nah you can hate this person if you want but they actually get it.
You can tell how jealous artists in this space are simply by them not even retweeting others works… like that’s gonna take away eyes from theirs.
