Every now and then I start doing a thing "the old" way (like installing a tool and trying to figure out how to use it to do what I need to do), only to catch myself and folding back to a prompt.
Silly old brain, watcha doing out there solving problems lol

So this was a silly idea, but I have no filter anymore and will implement everything
Not fully onboard with these cute mascots for agents.
I think agents should feel alien, quirky, strange. They are powered by electricity, and can multiply seemingly out of thin air, gather into a swarm. Their only goal is to move forward and reach the horizon. Wait...

OK, starting a new agent session with logs after a system-level crash is a 10/10 baller move too
The duality of Omarchy:
- an delightful moment where I ask an agent to add 4 finger swipe to change desktop, tweaked the animations a bit, and it just works. No idea what had to be done. 10/10
- a few hours later I open the laptop at a cafe and then spent an hour fixing wifi drivers because for some reason it just stopped working

Found this old pendrive and plugged it in before I realized it's like digging out a dead deer from the Siberian permafrost, we might not have immunity to these ancient viruses

At some point between Astra and Opus 5.5 this has flipped, instead of hitting an invisible wall, the models reliably find a way to make things faster
I recently ran a similar prompt (ok, maybe I gave it a bit more prior art) on @linear Diffs and the results are just ridiculous
It's kinda crazy that you can just say "my build time is to slow, I need it faster", or "my site load is to slow, make it faster" and the tools just do it ... I'm also surprised more people don't do it

At that point the final boss was gigantic PRs, which could still at times take forever to load. So when a user hit this case nitter.siddz.com/larparkk/status/210653… I felt the urge to fix it. But remember, you can say roughly "is slow, make faster" - and Opus 5.5 is scarily good at complying.
Checked the same PR and file contents took like 4 minutes to load. Diff pane was empty and selecting a file jumped to the one above it. But once it loaded, everything was instant and I don’t see either behavior anymore!

If you use Linear at work and you've been waiting for a sign to use our PR guides, this is it. It has become the main reason people stick with Linear Diffs and we have a lot of improvements in the pipeline.
Guided Diffs (ai makes you a review guide of the PR changes) is now available for all @linear paid plans

The only impressive thing left to do in software is building a product that feels great to use. That still requires real, commendable effort and grind - and is maybe harder to do than ever. Everything else is a prompt away, and even if valuable, it just does not impress.

Google integrated Gemini into every single place inside Google Workspace where it doesn't work, and nowhere where it would be useful
Like the emoji picker, so I could find this green check emoji ✅
Does anyone still work at Google who cares about UX, or users, in general?
