Underground
Pipedream Labs retweeted
Over the next decade, underground logistics + drones will make atoms move like bits. The internet FOR things.
Boring Company building a tunnel from Long Beach to the Inland Empire so we can move containers on electric self-driving chassis at 100 mph average speed (versus ~10 mph today) would transform American logistics forever.

If we want atoms to move at the speeds of bits across the country, they have to move underground.
Using TBC tunnels to transport freight. The latest Prufrock Liner Truck (using Tesla Model 3 batteries and drive units) has been modified to carry a standard 20’ shipping container. Fits like a glove!

What is the endgame for me promoting sub-t as the next warfighting domain? It makes me sound like a crazy person, leads to endless ridicule from smart and dumb people alike, and thus far only loses me money. Genuinely curious what people like you think the gameplan is.

Today, we are excited to announce the first annual Austin Deep Tech 50. Austin has become the hub for some of America's best deep tech founders, so we brought together 8 VC firms with a local presence — @overmatchvc, @valor, @8vc, Banner VC, @BCapitalGroup, @TheAmbitionCap, @ensemblevc, and Trust Ventures — to vote on the 50 startups making the biggest impact. Together they've raised $10B+ in the last 12 months. Full write-up: overmatch.substack.com/p/202… The full list 🧵👇

Palmer’s right here. Underground delivery can make delivery too cheap to meter. The next Shenzhen could just be the whole of the continental United States.
Anduril founder Palmer Luckey on the future of warfare: I think the next war-fighting domain, before it's the moon, is the subterranean domain. The United States and the Soviet Union both believed during the Cold War that the crust of the earth would turn into a battle space. With the power of autonomy, you can now build these things much more cheaply, much lower risk. You don't need manned systems.

not a lot of people read it, but those who did seemed to like it. I think long form articles struggle on here to get traction since the average post is <160 characters. anyways - my last pipedream article got featured in the WeeklyRobotics newsletter. I appreciate the kind words!
In Weekly Robotics 370, you'll learn about: 🤖 designing an underground robot scheduler, 🤖 an open-source L2 autopilot, 🤖 the problem with robot-centric deployment data for general robots, 🤖 an interesting flat-packed fixed-wing, ... and more! weeklyrobotics.com/weekly-ro…

When one of our robots dies underground, the robot behind it hits it. On purpose. I finally wrote up the software architecture behind Pipedream's robot fleets: chronoplanes, gated holds, kiss-and-push recovery, and what a planner is allowed to believe about the future.

I love the retro airport terminal look, but didn't want to spend $3.5k on a vestaboard. I coded a fun tool that turns any tv into a vestaboard. > add quotes / weather / stats etc > no subscription, $199 one time fee > first customer gets a free tv hmu :)

Today we are opening the first node on a pipedream network. We've also built our own grocery store for it, and doing both of these has allowed us to start working with some of some of our biggest potential enterprise customers. All with a team of just 10 people. A few s/o's:

Man everyone is launching a grocery store these days
After months of planning, we're excited to announce 'The Polymarket' is coming to New York City. New York's first free grocery store. We signed the lease. And we donated $1 million to Food Bank For NYC — an organization that changes how our city responds to hunger. 🧵

Polymarket's "free grocery store" will not be permanent. It will be a limited time, 5 day pop-up. businessinsider.com/polymarket-kal…

It’s crazy to see all the part runner vehicles that exist just to haul something from a car parts store to a dealership. I see a world where @pipedream_labs connects them directly. I feel like McMaster and Grainger would be similar for industrial.
