Israel’s far-right National Security Minister in Netanyahu’s government, Itamar Ben-Gvir, is seeking to strip Arab citizens of their right to vote, declaring:
“Today, more than ever, it must be made clear: the right to vote must not be granted to anyone who does not openly declare allegiance to the State of Israel.”
Ben-Gvir went on to boast:
“I am proud that I have turned the lives of Palestinians in prison into hell. I am proud of passing the death penalty law for Palestinian prisoners . I am proud that, over the past year and a half, I have overseen the demolition of 10,000 buildings deemed illegal in the Negev. I am proud of creating massive deterrence, and proud of arming settlers in Israel against the enemies.”

Virgin Media gets phenomenal engagement for its #TonightVMTV programme on Twitter, and it publishes around a dozen Tweets with clips from the programme and other commentary every week.
Yet, it has stopped advertising Twitter as a way to get in touch with or comment on the programme. The programme is averaging around 65,000 average adult audience for first transmission in 2026 and faces increased competition for eyeballs from mushrooming current affairs podcasts.
Why is it pushing its Twitter audience away, when it can see there is phenomenal support and engagement on the platfom?
Reducing Ireland's "reliance on fossil fuels" is key to easing costs for households and businesses in the long term.
That's according to Deloitte Ireland Chief Economist Kate English.
