A bestiary of chaotic attractors, each carrying its own dihedral Dₙ symmetry. Every disk holds a different attractor of the generalized Field–Golubitsky map: z ↦ {a₀ + a₁|z|² + a₂ Re(zⁿ) + a₃|z| Re[(z/|z|)ⁿᵖ]} z + a₄ z̄ⁿ⁻¹ #builtWithMarimo

Last week, we published 3 security advisories including Brotli, tls certificates, and quic As future hardening, we will replace most of Bun’s C/C++ dependencies with our own safe Rust implementation. Starting with libarchive github.com/oven-sh/bun/pull/…

Using AI agents and Lean 4 intensively for over a year we noticed a single edit would produce massive waste of compute with RAM scaling catastrophically when running in parallel. Try github.com/th0rgal/turbo-lea…: - 1000x faster edits - 16x less RAM - 20x less token (log scale btw)

What I'm gathering from these CVEs is it's better to not rely on other parties for important software, especially for cases that are not easy to update remotely
Code-execution flaw in UEFI firmware threatens most servers on planet Earth arstechnica.com/security/202…
Community note
The vulnerability (CVE-2026-97631) only affects systems actively PXE network-booting using vulnerable EDK2 firmware; it requires sending malicious ICMP packets during that window and does not impact systems booting from local disks or with PXE disabled. github.com/tianocore/edk2… arstechnica.com/security/2026/…

Announcing 3 Critical vulns for hundreds of millions of IoT, Firewalls, OT, and Military devices including: Palo Alto Networks, Comcast, D-Link, HP, Canon, Honeywell, GE, Oracle, Siemens, Rockwell, Digi, Lockheed Martin, Boeing... The vulns are with GoAhead Web Server which is a backend library used by these devices. There's a patch available from GoAhead but that doesn't mean there's a patch available for the devices yet -- that's up to the manufacturer. - TLS traffic over DHE ciphers have a 1-byte secret, "04", meaning anyone can decrypt connections to these devices and steal login credentials and session tokens if the client negotiated with DHE ciphers like the latest TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256, which is extremely likely. - LibreSSL mTLS has been completely bypassed, meaning anyone can connect over mTLS. If you have one of these devices listening on the internet and are expecting mTLS to protect it from attackers, take it offline or patch asap. - OpenSSL Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) are not enforced, meaning if a user device is stolen or compromised, and you revoke that mTLS cert, nothing actually happens. There are a lot of other attacks this can be used for. These are critical because these types of devices run our world. Water systems, electricity, military, firewalls, critical infrastructure. foxio.io/blog/choose-your-ba…

New pre-print data: A quantum state was found underlying the function of mitochondria. Add that to the already peer-reviewed data demonstrating quantum biologic electron tunneling in mitochondria. Everything we think we know about biology & physics is about to be turned upside down in the next 5 years. "The high energy-efficiency of life is hard to understand only with classical physics...Here, combining experiments on cells, tissues and mitochondria with a theoretical model, we demonstrate a quantum state of mitochondria, which can be employed to modulate ATP production in living cells."

Introducing Fern, Mirendil’s first model: pretrained from scratch, with up to 10 million tokens of context. That’s ~0.5M lines of code or days of an agent’s work - all in context at once. Built for high-volume agentic work in AI R&D: auditing training data, debugging training runs from logs, and reading agent traces end to end. Fern’s next-token prediction keeps improving as context grows to 10M tokens. Fern 0.1 is Mirendil-Base after a short round of post-training. It’s the first and smallest of three models, with two larger ones now being pretrained. We’ll ship frequent updates and make the model available soon.

While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected. Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions. Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent. But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models? We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem. Read the full report: cohere.com/blog/concerning-b…
