“if you're a founder or working at bigger orgs, you will be surrounded by a lot of folks for job opportunities or funding, try to be patient with them or ask for space. they are still learning”
im very sad that I won't be able to travel to devcon this year. i was looking forward to go to india and show my crypto friends around. but, if you are considering going to devcon but are hesitant to go because it's in India, i ask you to have a little bit of open mind. it's an overstimulating country for first 2 days, and you would think everyone is there to get you or steal from you. but that's not true at all. there are bad parts in every country -- remember Bogota? or Brussels? if you have some local crypto friends, they will be a great guide. i will personally help you in anything needed. but the point is that devcon needs more ethereum people aligned. EF needs more ethereum people aligned. this hasn't been the best year for EF, but im still an eth community member. i love devcon and india. i think it's going to be great. some tips: - food is great. if your white/euro genes cant take the spice, go to nicer restaurants - use Uber Black everywhere - Mumbai is LA of India. women do walk alone during night, but if you're concerned, then always have +1 in ubers. - a lot of people can understand english and speak broken english so you should be fine. - you do need cash or any of travel card with 0% transaction fee. amex platinum works great or similar visa/master cards. - you need cash because you won't get UPI as non-indian and it's not worth the hassle. - dont get scammed into paying 3x more at streets for anything. always have an indian bro lmeow - on similar note, mostly tuk-tuk people will charge you 3x or souvenir places on the street - try indian sweets and desserts. you will love them. - try street food for the love of god - if you're a founder or working at bigger orgs, you will be surrounded by a lot of folks for job opportunities or funding, try to be patient with them or ask for space. they are still learning. overall, india has some of the best talents in crypto: from building products to marketing, some of them are exceptional and those 1% people are the ones you wanna connect to.

Sunrise CEO Saeed says tokenized Asian stocks can reach a global audience through Solana “We work directly with the CEOs and boards of these publicly traded companies to bring their stocks onchain and make them available on Solana.” “Sunrise, in less than a year, has already seen $14 billion in volume for its assets.” “SK Hynix listed on Nasdaq . The same day, it was also listed on Solana, distributed to the entire Solana ecosystem.” “We’ve already seen half a billion in volume traded. The holder count is above 10,000. There is a global audience for assets in this region.” “Yes, you can. It is being done. It’s being done by many companies, and we see this trend continuing to accelerate.”

Sunrise CEO Saeed Badreg says stablecoins went from $27B to $308B in 6 years, and tokenization is next “No one could predict that a crypto company like Tether would shoot up to the top 10 in US debt buyers in the world, beating out countries, major European countries, major, major economies around the world.” “Only six years ago, we had $27 billion in stablecoins. It’s been absolutely accelerating to $308 billion today.” “A lot of that activity happens in Asia. Around two-thirds, people estimate.” “They really believed that the infrastructure and the financial system that was in place at the time sufficiently served all or most of the demand cases out there. The market and this industry has proved that that was categorically false.” “The same story is playing out in tokenization and equities and commodities and other financial assets.”

KG says Anthropic is the purest bet on AI "I feel like Meta was kind of a good long the last month because of the Muse thing. But I feel like we use this, I think Muse has flooped , yes, it has more users than ChatGPT. It's a good headline, but if you see the retention and how people are actually using it, it doesn't translate to anything right now. Maybe it'll change, I don't know, but yeah." "Even though I want to be bullish on consumer AI, and I think it's a big, big team, I still think if you get a good dip in Anthropic when it was live, that's a buy." "I still want to believe, even though they always, they want to make AI into humans, kind of sentient beings and stuff, which is so weird, the way that they communicate and all." "I think Anthropic is a buy, which is probably a contrarian view. I don't know." "I think you want, it's like the most pure exposure to an AI thing. So I don't know why it doesn't get weird when literally SpaceX got, like, it went on this crazy 200, 220 run, and before it died below 100, so maybe similar." "I mean, the S-1, I don't know when that thing comes out, but it's gonna be coming out in the next couple of weeks, to be honest with you."

EmptyBrainTrader and KG says Paper farming could pay, but blowing up to earn tokens is a terrible tradeoff "The thing that I hate the most is that I don't want to get liquidated. I have this big notion against this blowing up. I think it's so dumb. But you want to own Paper because I do agree with the thesis wholeheartedly that over, I think over 100 leverage itself, traders are bound to lose. I think the odds are in nobody's favour but the house. So you want to own the house, the casino." "And I think that's a great thesis. Love it. But to have to blow up to earn that thing, that goes against a little bit of what I want to do. But I probably will do it just because it's a good trade." "You don't need to farm it for months. You just show up on day one and just lose a bunch of money instantly." "The traders lost what, 30 million, and the staking rewards were 25 or something. So 75–80% has been recovered for people who lost." "You don't want to try to farm this thing because if you enter the wrong size, the wrong leverage, at the wrong time, that's the end. This thing is not like cross margin or anything, right? All of them are isolated positions, and you can easily get, you know, one thing goes wrong and you might try to, you know, hedge it after a certain point. And if that reverses, you're like we are fucked both ways. So have to be careful there."

The freedom to experiment is what makes decentralized markets so powerful. We’ve seen it before: what starts as a game ends up driving adoption of new technology. We’re building @sunrise to bring anything people want to trade to @solana and give people room to experiment with those assets.
Saeed on the impact of stock paired memecoins towards onchain tokenized stock adoption "I think I kind of like compare it to many things that we've seen in the past where it's like a toy or a game. This is a pretty common theme or occurrence with new technologies. I mean, even Ethereum, some people would say would not be where it is today if it wasn't for CryptoKitties." "Yeah. I mean, it's there. There are these use cases that come out, and this is kind of the power of a decentralized system." "Yeah, you can have all of these different . Like, I would say fundamentally, if you have a decentralized financial system, your ability to experiment is, you know, incomparable with the traditional markets. People will come up with things that they think are cool, that they would enjoy. And if they find a market for it and people get excited for it, you will see that in the numbers. Because the blockchain is super transparent, you can see everything that's going on. And so when you see something like memecoins and stock tokens being paired and that driving a tremendous amount of volumes," "You understand that many people are gonna laugh and scoff at it and be like, that's silly. Why do you care about memecoins? But, you know, for us as infrastructure builders and people who have been building the space for a long time, it's not the first time that we've seen fun, gamified things start the flywheel and drive a lot of adoption for underlying core technologies. That is a lot more boring. That is a lot more traditional. So for us, our team, like we try not to have an arrogant view of what the market is doing." "We try to kind of say, understand that there are going to be, at any point within the Solana ecosystem, a thousand or maybe more than a thousand concurrent experiments happening in terms of how capital should form, how capital markets should function." "And, you know, our job isn't really to judge whether this is good or bad. Our job is really to be like, hey, we're providing you with the assets and with the infrastructure that you need to conduct those experiments. And if they work, great. Some of them will, many of them won't, and that's just kind of how markets work."
