I am excited to be attending IEEE-RAS Robosoft 2024 in San Diego, April 15-17. I will give a demo and talk about our latest project, the Softness Rendering Interface (SORI), at the "Multimodal Soft Robots for Multifunctional Manipulation, Locomotion, and Human-Machine Interaction" workshop. Please stop by if you want to try the demo and contact me if you would like to have a conversation.

The haptic softness rendering interface, SORI, replicates the feeling of softness on fingertips by controlling contact area and force, successfully emulating the tactile sensation of items such as a soft salmon fillet and a heart model. In PNAS: ow.ly/tc5h50QTy60
ALT SORI replicates the sense of softness on fingertips. Examples of objects include a marshmallow, an aluminum block, and a Puskevit, which is a biscuit layered on top of Turkish delight.

Researchers from @RRL_EPFL have developed a haptic device capable of reproducing the softness of various materials, from a marshmallow to a beating heart, overcoming a deceptively complex challenge that has previously eluded roboticists. go.epfl.ch/85947d
Exciting news! Our robot, SORI, Softness Rendering Interface is featured in @PNASNews. SORI regenerates the sense of softness on a fingertip by decoupling cutaneous and kinesthetic cues. @robotician@a_mustafamete@EPFL_en@snsf_ch
🦾 Took a creative retreat as the #RRL team at #EPFL! 💡 Engaged in deep discussions that sparked new ideas to set the stage for future of our lab. 🌍Celebrated our diversity with an International Food Night & Swiss Raclette Night, strengthening our bonds. Inspired & ready! 🎉
Thanks everyone for joining us at our annual #liverobotdemos for ME410 class @EPFL_MechE@EPFLEngineering it was a beautiful day having over hundreds of attendees learning and testing brand new robots created during the semester.
🎉 A fantastic ME-410 demo day last Friday! 🚀
Kudos to our students for their brilliant prototypes, showcasing the future of mechanical design. Check out their creativity and effort in these projects! 🤖🔧
Big thanks to all who visited the demo day. #robotics@EPFL@robotician
Congratulations to all my students receiving their @epfl diploma today! Huge cheers @nchennoufi1 who won the prestigious Best Master Thesis Project @Hiltigroup Award 🥇 for his work on @MirosTechnology So proud of everyone!
Much gratitude @FlueckigerYves for letting me shadow @unige throughout the day sitting in all of ur meetings. I learned even complex problems w/o a comprehensive solution can still move forward w sharp mind equipped w empathy. What an honor to witness it all up close! @hitprogram
Excited for IEEE World Haptics Conf 2023 in Delft, NL! Join our hands-on demo: “Feelix: A Haptic Design Tool for Rigid and Soft Actuation Systems with Machine Learning Support” by TUe and RRL EPFL.
