💊 β-Blockers in Hemodialysis: Does Dialyzability Matter?
Nondialyzable β-blockers were associated with fewer cardiovascular events, particularly early after HD initiation.
Promising findings, but RCTs are still needed.

A multicenter study evaluated ML to predict KRT or in-🏥 death in critically ill patients with rhabdomyolysis.
External validation showed good discrimination (AUROC 0.89), outperforming McMahon score.
Findings support further prospective validation before clinical use.

💡 #KidneyWk 2026 offered a valuable opportunity for ERA to strengthen international collaborations and explore new ways to advance nephrology worldwide.
🌍 ERA leadership held fruitful meetings with the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN), KDIGO, and the Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension (SLANH), reaffirming a shared commitment to scientific exchange, education and international cooperation.
✍️ A key milestone was the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding with JSN, marking an important step forward in our partnership.
🤝 These exchanges highlight the importance of working across borders, sharing knowledge and strengthening connections within the global nephrology community.

#ASNCJASN: A small, early eGFR dip may be a sign treatment is working. In MIRO-CKD, balcinrenone plus dapagliflozin produced modest, reversible eGFR reductions associated with greater lowering of blood pressure and albuminuria, with no increase in serious safety events. kidney.pub/CJASN1202
🫘 Empagliflozin in ADPKD: A pilot RCT (JASN; n=50) showed good tolerability and an early eGFR dip followed by stabilization, but greater kidney volume increase vs placebo.
🔬 Larger trials needed.
