The end of an era!
This hasn’t been an easy decision. But I’m leaving Elementor.
After 7 years of teaching it and using it almost every single day for client work, I’m moving on.
It all started back in 2014 when I wanted my own creative business. There were no page builders yet, so I sold graphic design and paid developers to build the websites. Then Elementor came along and I could finally sell the whole process myself.
It shaped my career, my channel and a big part of my life. But the way I design and build websites has completely changed. AI made me excited about web development again, and I don’t need a page builder for my client work anymore.
So I’m closing this chapter, and starting a new one: LivingWithPixels is becoming LivingWithPrompts. From moving pixels to prompting.

Introducing Pencil. The easiest way for a client to edit a WordPress site, while you as the developer keeps full agentic control. All without a pagebuilder.
This started with my own workflow. I design more sites in HTML now, using Claude or Codex . It made me question whether we still need a pagebuilder and WordPress. But many clients already have their content, custom post types, and sometimes a whole store in WordPress. This isn't going to change because AI can generate a website now. And AI can also generate a theme inside of WordPress, but these are not editable by default for clients, so Pencil solves this.
Pencil lets client click on (static) text or an image on the site, make a change, and save it. The agent can still build the theme and its functionality. Content managed by ACF or another plugin stays where it belongs.

It's not yet available in the WordPress repo because I first want to see if there's enough interest.

I've been playing around with this feature and it's such a time saver if you already use cloud storage for files!
If your files already live in Google Drive or Dropbox, you shouldn't have to re-upload them to your site. Document Library Pro now syncs a shared folder into a searchable library, automatically. No API keys, no OAuth. barn2.com/blog/google-drive-…
