🤔 What if writing faster C++ code actually meant writing *simpler* code?
Incredibly excited to share that I'll be giving my first-ever keynote at @CppCon 2025:
➡️ “More Speed & Simplicity: Practical Data-Oriented Design in C++”

C++26 is going to have Reflection!
I am very excited about that fact, so I wrote a new #cpp post with a very cool example. We're taking a JSON string and turning it directly into a C++ object:

Preprocessor embed is in C++26. You can go bother your vendors to put it in. The offset parameter may make it through as well, meaning it will go in fully complete and not need a second standards revision to patch the offset(3) parameter in.
It's finally, truly, over.
Cool to see Intel taking senders to the embedded space. Looks like @ben_deane in involved, too.
I'm curious how I could make stdexec more bare-metal friendly. Ben?

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as USB-C, is in fact, USB-C/USB3.2, or as I've recently taken to calling it, USB-C plus USB3.2. USB-C is not a protocol unto itself, but rather a connector specification.
I've always enjoyed looking at ligers. You too?
The liger is a hybrid offspring of a male lion and a female tiger. It's the largest of all known extant felines. Notably, ligers typically grow larger than either parent species. This one is 922 pounds (418.2 kg)!

ALT a bingo card with
* WTF is detached HEAD state
* I hate git
* git's design is so elegant
* I've used git for 10 years and I have no idea how it works
* commits are immutable snapshots
* just use magit
* git is a directed acyclic graph
* you have to understand the linux kernel dev workflow
* mercurial is better
* git is not github
* subversion was so much worse
* I only know 5 commands
* a branch is just a pointer to a commit
* the CLI is badly designed
* you should just read Pro Git
* rewriting history is bad
* just spend 15 minutes learning git's internals
* something about "porcelain"
* merge sucks, only use rebase
* rebase sucks, only use merge
* I just do not care how git works
* content addressed storage
* subversion was better
* something about Linus Torvalds
* I just delete my git repo if I mess it up
I dislike it because I've parsed it holistically and found it wanting intellectually, morally, and aesthetically. If you like something, it's because you're actually a bad person and there's something disgusting and vile in there that slakes your mutant bloodlust
"The poorest man may, in his cottage, bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter, the rain may enter, but the King of England may not enter." — William Pitt, 1763.
