I was thinking the EXACT same thought as I was reflecting back on this years CVPR. This book was so foundational through my grad school a little over two decades ago.
Based on what happened this year at CVPR 2026, it seems that the vision community is making a full swing back to 3D vision. Just to remind young people who just got interested in this subject, my first textbook, written 20 years ago, is probably still the best introduction to this topic: books.google.com.hk/books/ab…

Excellent article by @addyosmani .
My experience with AI-coding tools aligns with this. They're ideal for initial MVPs where accuracy or robustness isn't critical and for addressing "known unknowns." However, they struggle with "unknown unknowns," often spiraling into chaos.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
A quick test of my gear for the #solareclipse2024 and I am quite pleased with the results. A big shoutout to @precisioncamera for coming to my rescue with a solar filter. I had the 77mm one, but did not realize I needed the 95mm one until the dry run today !
This quote hit me like a train-wreck this morning. So true ! Now, I couldn't verify if this was really quoted by John Conway. Could be one of those "internet quotes" :)

On a slightly tangential note, Team Topologies by Skelton and Pais is an enlightening read! Removing barriers to communication pathways for a robust software architecture seems like a good idea for team productivity!
A professional update - last Friday was my last day with @HPE_Cray. Fun fact - I was the last employee hired under “Cray”. I had an incredible time with a great team. I wish my colleagues all the best! I will miss the people and the meaningful connections I have made there.
I took this picture earlier this year during my visit to Ebey's Landing in April. I wanted to convey the contrasting scale between the waves and the cliff, juxtaposed by the person taking a walk on the beach.
Such a beautiful part of Washington !
So, I finally received my access to @OpenAI beta for codex and GPT-3, and now I am purposefully distracted on a friday afternoon. How is your friday going ? #codex#TGIF
