how to get your first 100 users: 1) enter into right circles or cabals: this can be IRL or joining few group chats: - more relevant the better - eg, if equity trading app, then a group chat of equity traders - for events, prefer a niche interest ones (eg. dating apps generally go to college campuses - absolutely avoid 'networking' conferences or any founder events) don't go to group chats and directly shill your product or straight up ask user Qs: be genuinely curious and authentic once you've developed some trust or a specific conversation comes up relevant to what your product can solve: then only go and pill them about your product (always be subtly shilling) 2) be friends with your early users: never treat your early users like a 'customer' but as a 'friend': believe me, it also makes the whole process of getting users much more fun + they'll be also much more empathetic towards bugs/issues at early stages in the last 8 months of product building - i've a simple rule to talk to 10 users every day (even product is not ready) ofc, it won't be 10 new users every day - particularly when you're still building so i just talk to existing users; hangout with them and my intention is just be friends with them and keep embedding all my user insights Qs to understand what they want (ofc, it's a huge bonus: if your existing friends are also your potential users) 3) curate your user feedbacks: >90% users are shy i.e they'll silently form an opinion without conveying what they actually felt (you'll need to make them comfortable to share as much as they can) that's why 'choosing' your first 100 users is as important as finding your first 100 users how to choose? - i generally judge from conversations and where they're coming from to decide whom to give access - avoiding giving access to arm-chair commentators is hugely important to avoid any negative bias - at early stages, always prioritise high intent users who'll spend some time rather than ones who just find the product idea 'cool' and no, never share a feedback form or questionnaire for your first 100/1k users as everyone just hates to fill them you can get on a call if they're comfortable but simple chat conversations like a friend goes a long long way 4) make it screenshottable: people love sharing screenshots - just make it such that all the initial touchpoints/screens are as screenshot-worthy as possible imagine, if a friend shares you a random screenshot, you'd be inherently curious on which app is it - and that's when you'll ask for access (there should be a 'aha moment' which users wanna capture a screenshot & share in <2 mins of using product) 5) let user organically bring other users (aka word-of-mouth) if your user likes even a small part of your product, they'll definitely bring other users - and that's the highest signal of them being 'invested' in the product: generally a user only brings another user to check out a new product - when they genuinely believe that this product will be 10x better in few months i'd suggest to iterate harder on product: if users aren't organically telling their friends about your product (marketing doesn't solve this) 6) just launch or build in public: if it's a quick weekend hack or you're yourself not sure whether it's a good idea: it's better to just launch on X or YT or Linkedin or Insta/Tiktok to see if it catches fire and you can then build towards the idea but a thumb rule: 1:1 feedback/validation >> X launch reach/comments as people like to either bash or hype-up unnecessarily on X/Insta (and it's a ripple effect so high chance you'll underestimate or overestimate demand) X launches are overrated af to get first 100 users - tldr: just make more friends, be curious, enjoy the process and get your first 100 users!

solana summit honest impressions: - top tier branding and event design (goat @farhatkadiwala_) - high-achieving and ambitious crowd (@SuperteamIN grant holders, @colosseum backed projects, @SuperteamBlack mentees) - enough relaxed space for networking and quick coffee convos - goated media production as usual. props to @pradologue and team @goatfishxyz - rapid 10-20 min speaker sessions and panels were fun to watch (relatable topics) - familiar venue (hackerhouse'23) - s/o to all the hosts and moderators whose efforts are often overlooked @namanc19 @paarugsethi @Rajnandanivoice @atharvelhal @inSitesh pardon my goldfish memory if i missed tagging anyone

Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer. Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war. To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha. The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people. And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final. We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it. Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made. They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making. One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

have you ever seen a $500 million red candle?
Rough math: $6.x b hack, $3b frozen, $1.x b SAFU fund Gap is about $2b, we have $1.x billion in SPCX alone. Remaining gap is (still painful, but) manageable. 🙏
