What won’t be said about Shameka Parrish-Wright’s second run for Louisville mayor? I’ve made time to meet with community groups, no matter their size, and to participate in forums and debates. My opponent gets to pick and choose.
I know he’s busy. I’m busy, too. I’m a councilwoman, an executive director, a candidate, a wife, a mother, and a member of this community. I even took unpaid time off work so I could be more available to meet with people across our county. Showing up matters.
These Tuesday Letters to Louisville are a deeper look at the conversations we have when you pull me aside and say, “I can’t believe this is happening.” I want you to understand what it’s like to run as a progressive organizer and businesswoman while caring for family and community and still making time to listen to voters.
My opponent receives the benefit of the doubt, along with the advantages of incumbency and a large campaign war chest. He can fill the airwaves with commercials, but when it’s time to meet voters face to face, he can choose whether to show up.
#Louisville, pay attention to what you’re seeing. We deserve a mayor who is accountable and accessible to the community. Don’t reelect Greenberg.
We must keep going. It’s not too late to join
